take the time machine back to about 1982+- I went to a flock of seagulls and the fixx...to see some "new wave" music...we wore black shirts and thin ties...and i can see my daughter rolling her eyes @ me!
My first concert was Berlin, The Fixx and A Flock of Seagulls in San Francisco, June, 1983, age 15 before sophomore year of high school.... '83 was a phenomenal year........
I love this band...I just wish the singer would sing the choruses instead of letting the audience do it. He did that on a live vhs tape I got too. Only sings half the chorus.
god, i miss the days when bands didn't suck. all these goddamn manufactured no-talent hacks on the radio today should watch these guys and take a lesson. i would have given anything to be at this show. the fixx just gets better with time. for a real treat, check out youtube performance of "woman on a train," from the same concert.
A magical night. A mysteriously gorgeous song. I was there. Didn't want to go 'cuz of a severe hangover, but their music cured me. Jamie is a genius guitarist,(but under-rated if you ask me), Cy sings like an angel, Rupert is fabulous w/ his melancholy keys, Gary Stands & Delivers, & of course Adam beats it home. Is there a more haunting or epic song?
I remember A show I went to...time flies, it was THE FIXX and a flock of seagulls, what a unique show. Toto, we're not in Kansas Van Halen Land! The show defined what the 80's was about.. modern "New wave" music(when was the last time you heard the term "new wave?" Aw Jeesh, I'm a geezer!!
Sadly, one of the most overlooked bands from the 80's, if Duran Duran make it to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame before them it will explain it perfectly....
I dont think he's diggin the Paul! He probsbly bought it that day from a pawn shop in LV! Its an investment

One of the better live versions I've heard in a while.
I like the Les Paul sound. The boys were on, as usual.
