I may not be a prius fan or like them, but they are quite a machine, I sure once in the market I will see alot of the in my rear view mirror(sorry I had to say it). But with petrol price going up, this will be hot. I am really happy to see a bigger version, working on the regular Prius is a pain.
The only incentive on this now is zero pecrent financing for up to 60 mos. The prius tax credit has long expired. You are talking 32K so I hope you have a good trade to reduce that down!
Test drove both this and the original model. This one was noticeably smoother and quieter. Plus there's a bit more cargo room and the rear seats recline and retract which is a huge plus.
Looks like their target market is carpool commuters. It would be worth it for 4 people to go in together to get the car since the fuel saved would pay for the car. I know bc I did the math with my car if fuel prices stay at 3.05 per gallon the car saves me $160 every 1K miles compared to a pu or suv. By the time the car gets to 200K miles that is 32K miles. A man is selling his 05 prius it has 300K miles he wants $5.5K and will probably get it. Ron Paul 2012
On Entune: "You may end up never using XM or radio again." Except gas prices, traffic, weather, etc. apparently require XM. Why not put Android directly in the dash? What if I want to consult with Yelp instead of OpenTable? Or Flixster instead MovieTickets? Killer app would be Netflix. In dash systems have always lagged behind what is really possible (high resolution screen? If it's not HD, it's not hi-res). I guess this is a step in the right direction, but sadly it's still falls way short.
@maverator Because watching movies when you're supposed to be driving would be worse than texting. The prius V entertainment system actually disables a lot of features while the car is in motion. The features you say "fall short" are easy and less involving than Netflix and Flickster, making it safer. Besides, you're using your data plan with EnTune through your cellphone provider, so the data charges involved with playing Netflix movies would kill your wallet every month.
Overall, I like how the Prius V looks. I'm not very impressed with the nose of the Prius V. It looks as if someone gave it a sucker punch and scrunched it up. Not very attractive.
@CrashJSTest My next car will be some form of Wagon, I love the things. I can't think of a more practical car design for the average person, so it kind of confuses me why so many hate them. (Not just this prius but any type of wagon-ish car)
@rnwnsfla Few things though... 1. You're comparing a new vs used vehicle. 2. A dodge Caravan gets fuel economy in the high teens low 20s while the Prius V is rated at 42mpg, slightly more than double! 3. It's a fucking dodge! Horribly unreliable piece of shit while the Prius should be very reliable as seen by older models.
A Prius will maintain its value while the Dodge/Chrysler will not. Over 200K miles, a Prius will pay for itself in fuel savings compared to that Dodge and still have value.
Cool The rear design is what Toyota should have done with first model. I love it, and Pandora is fantastic, but if Toyota is so innovative with Pandora, how can it end up choosing Bing instead Google Maps?
So??? Do the rear seats fold flat? Does the passenger seat fold flat? How much does this thing cost? Can you get it without all those overpriced options?
Idk why they'd even bother making this car. If they are gunna upsize it, why not give it a third row? The looks are so conservative, it's just....ughgjnheirjhngw

Looks good. Practical and fuel efficient. Other manufacturers will again have to follow toyota's lead.

I just bought one of these cars. It will be replacing a minivan - the cargo room in these cars is just amazing considering how compact it is overall.

Slight used Dodge Caravan is 10k price range. 1/3 spend on the car and sprend rest of 2/3 on gas. Much more cargo space more powerful.

who cares if there werent any animals harmed in the making of the seats. Animals are renewable. Unlike the minerals used to make the batteries. Hehe

@bajabusta Those batteries get recycled into new batteries. Your argument is invalid.

Interesting that Toyota moved to Lithium Ion for the Prius V. I wonder if the 2012 regular prii will have Lithium instead of Nickel batteries.. hmmm
