@knoblord hip hop has been around pretty much just as long as metal underground and still emerging from other genres in the 70's just like metal, and eventually got more pioneered and definitive by the 80's
yeah i like dragonforce but im not into them anymore even though i saw them and think they were very good live they can definetly play fast but with me its not all about the speed . i will say there singer sang better live than on the cd and that's rare these days .primal fear is great live too.the thing is i dont play dragonforce anymore but i play primal fear all the time like every day .

Being mainstream means that they no longer play for what they enjoy, or what they originally intended their music to soundlike; not what they are good at.
Going mainstream also usually means that their music will not be liked for years and years, but have a hit then be forgotten. Mainstream, or pop (popular) music usually has a catchy tune, like the new DF songs, but get annoying quickly.
