I've compared the peiri res map with modern maps myself and I don't think the coast of Antarctica is accurately depicted at all. It shows it connected to South America for goodness sake. True,the fact that it shows South America or Antarctica at all is pretty amazing, but it is not incredibly accurate.

Considering that video games are the next step in the evolution of storytelling it is important to include things in them that not just entertain but peaks your interest towards history and culture. It is a valid method of teaching especially since majority of the people in the industrial world take part in either creating or consuming in them. Go play those games and learn more.

If you look at the Piri Reis Map you can see that it almost certainly doesn't show Antarctica at all. It shows the east coast of South America distorted to fit the parchment.
