dobermans are so loving and loyal. When I leave my house my doberman sits in the window waiting for my truck to get into the driveway. When I get home he's at the door to greet me. I feel terrible for leaving him when I go to work. Because of him I have never taken a vacation lasting more than 3 days.

@bmj730 How can you say that.Its tail has been cut off.Thats like someone cutting off your leg for no reason.Its ears have also been cut and put in sticks for about half a year so they stick up like that.Its a very painful process and bleeds alot aswell.

AWWW he's looking for you and being so good. I had a dobe as a kid and she was given anti freeze by someone while we were all sleeping, she was outside sleeping... now I have a dobe / shep mix who never lets me out of her sight. Dobes make great pets!!

Its tail has also been cut off,its disgusting doing that to a dog just because a human doesn't like the way it looks.If you heard of some cutting of a dogs tail or attacking a dog and chopping of its ears then people would say thats terrible!

@jenickfied historically the tails were cropped because it would get in the way of the dog's work. dobies were breed to be protectors and hunters and a long tail would prevent that. i've seen dobies of both type (cropped and uncropped) and either way dobies are just a beautiful breed. there are parts of the world where cropping has become illegal. so yes cropping isn't medically necessary but historically it did serve a purpose.

He's so happy when you come back home, he wags his little stub. Doberman Pinchers are one of THE best dog breeds in my opinion. Their smart, funny, playful, protective, great family dogs, and can excel in any form of training from cop work to dog shows.

What I did back then is looked in the net for different styles I liked, I went for a mid size ear crop as tall ones are very difficult to take care, and short ones I didnt like. Take in account it takes a lot of dedication to take care of the post ear crop sugery....

Tau's crop looks very nice. I HATE those long donkey-crop ears! when u c them, notice how the tips tremble. Funny how crop style changes over the years....i prefer mid crop with alot of bell (base) left. Bell keeps them strong, helps erect,., and maintains better hearing, better protection from elements.... it's sad when SOME croppers chop the bell away.
