Btw, i do this is a good performance of a HIGH SCHOOL chamber choir. Please people, listen for enjoyment, not just to critic, it ruins the posts and it ruins your enjoyment of the piece.

Ok, I have had it with the comments that are just criticism. Unless their is a video of you on youtube singing this song, it just is irritating when people start being so critical. There is the freedom of choice in performance. I personally would have performed it differently, but that is just what I would do. Stop being so critical of the pieces. If you don't like it, don't listen.

The discipline here is wonderful. Having high schoolers mature enough to take it seriously while having that lady laugh near the begining just goes to show you the caliber of the excellent teacher who conducted this.

Their director, a product of Westminster Choir College, IS a fabulous teacher. That she has devoted many years to a public high school Chorus, and in this case Chamber Chorus, program, has been a tremendous blessing to all involved.

Oh, and the lady laughing was just reacting with delight and surprise, not laughing at the students.

If you are doing it correctly ... it shouldn't be "easy". of course you may do well at sight reading the piece but to have it in tune, with the right dynamics and such can be a task in itself. I don't understand saying "plum" or "plume" because it should be said "plm"...very VERY short (almost non exsistant vowel) because our choir took it as immitating a string instrument. Also, I believe the la-la's need to be more crisp and short.

We're doing this song at school. Everyone says it's hard, but we learned it in one day... Super easy.

And the sopranos are kinda shrill and a bit too slow in parts.

The boys are few, but they pull their part relatively well. The main bass voice sounds exactly like a guy from my choir.

We also say "plum" instead of "plume".

Actually DefyingGravity212...some version's have it as "Bum". My choir is doing it too...and on our version it says to sing "Bm"...and ours has words in the Soprano section. :]]

Excelent work. Very nice power from the young men. The only problem I see with this version of the song is that, with so few boys, the main "bums" are cut in half. When I do this song with my high school choir, the altos do the higher "bum" while the bases did the lower "bums". It turned out very well. Though, considering the version you did, I would have to say I'm impressed.
