@kbowlgod300 i was just kiddin, a simpson episode suggested that it takes a whole tree to make a single pin, and since then I always found the idea pretty amusing to think of.
I used to be a "pin chaser" back in the early 1980's. One night one of the lanes' automatic pin setter was on the fritz ( it would not cycle properly) so I had to sit on the machine for 4 hours during league play flipping the switch to activate the pin setter cycle. Man I had the biggest headache after.
Wow... thats so much different than the old A-2's we use at our alley, looks much more reliable... those things are 40 years old and we have to fix them constantly
I bowl at hanover lanes.... Lol. Couldnt be much worse of mechanics there. Took 50 mins the other week for them to do a simple ball return. Its not like the ball was underground. it was just sitting on the shakerboard and took 50 mins for them to get it. ... pathetic, and they never fix the lanes. Crap crap crappity crap.... I also drive by the Qubica factory on the way there lol
And they only covered one machine, they didnt even get into the complicated stuff. brunswick pinsetters. ugh. and the "holes" can actually hold 2 pins, considering the machines run with 20 pins.
a mechanics dream world. Spotless pinsetters, brand new. never break. This video covers almost nothing. In fact the pins are not always placed right side up in the pin wheel. They are oriented when they get to the distributor. And they only covered one side of the "white plastic wheel." AKA the cam. the side they showed only controls left to right movement, the opposite side controls front to back. The new guy is a pin chaser, those with experience are mechanics. This video missed a lot
You are obviously a mechanic, I am too. But this isn't a training video, it just shows people a little about what goes on behind the scenes. People don't need to know how to gap a pincup or adjust the sweep and table cams, they just wonder where the pins go when they hit 'em.
Yeah i know lol. I really shouldnt of gone posting stuff on this right after getting home from work. I just didnt like how underappreciated they make "pin chasers" like me feel. Heh, i work hard to be a mechanic, not just a guy there to catch calls
LOL! That old person SUCKED at putting the pins back up, i'm not laughing because i'm being slack, but i thought of the syin' "put ya back into it" lol!

I would imagine setting the pins takes longer as you drink more beer. Probably takes a few tries without knocking them all down.
