actually most abortions occur after the 6-8 week mark which is when the baby goes from zygote to fetus and has moving hands and legs, has a heartbeat and brainwaves. and personally i think that if you are willing to terminate a life for the sake of convenience, then they have given up their right to reproduce and should undergo sterilization.

no npr isn't a tv station. If there's more than 1 tv station, there's no monopoly, if there's 5 today plus Cspan and liberal public tv, then we have more choices than we had in 1960. Remember, the average American couldn't find a cure for that fair and balanced like Fox News itch if they had one back then.
Most people have cable today, therefore most have access to more tv news choices than ever.

No, the numbers are from the Alan Guttmacher Institute a pro-abortion organization that has the integrity to list the actual statistics as to why women get abortions. In Abortion in the United States, they list 1% of the total as due to rape or incest. The "what if she was raped" is a side issue to avoid the actual debate.
You don't know shi'ite about the facts. It's not BS, it's fact--when women get abortions it's hardly ever for rape. You are minimizing the stats no one else. Find logic

It took a special sample, which isn't representative of the whole population and of those (young women)allegedly x% had been molested. Nowhere in this does it say the sex abuse led to the pregnancy, just that they had been abused. The % of abortions from rape is 1%, it's a side issue to waste time on.

you do realize that your quotes were on a select group of pregnant women, so they do not have any part of the abortion arguement as they did not have abortions. the majority of women who have abortions is not those that have been raped, it is those women who are in mid life and do not want to raise another child. and abortion shouldn't be made available to those that want to use it as a form of birth control. because of people like you who have devalued the life of an unborn child (con't)

The fallacy of your argument is that it IS the law of the land here and in other countries where the Puritans aren't trying to control women's bodies. i understand that this is a moot issue, i just think that devaluing human life is an atrocity, the fact that i had no recourse against the guy who ran into my car causing the death of my unborn child. because my unborn child wasn't a 'real' life because it wouldn't have been able to survive outside the womb. no, abortion has brought more injustice than justice. do not worry i have many many more issues, but few that are this personal.

I meant elective abortions, of course. I know of very few state legislatures that would not carve out exceptions for rape and incest if Roe is reversed. Parenthetically, the life of the mother is already constitutionally protected. But, even if some legislatures ban it altogether someday, that's the perogative of the people under the 10th Amendment. The day is coming when the consitutional abortion of Roe v. Wade is reversed, so you better start planning for it.

no, abortion should not be available to those that just want to use it for birth control, it is wrong to say you have to take birth control, but it isn't wrong to say go ahead and kill an innocent life? we live in a land where monsters are kept alive and the innocent are murdered. do we need more babies? no, but there are chemical and medical procedures that are available to ensure that pregnancy doesn't occur. why not use them for birth control instead of abortion?

So what? Ford is a good Democrat, an effective politician, and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Who gives a shit about his views on abortion? Abortion is a private issue, and I'm not ready to see a good, effective person who could do well for the Country and the party in the Senate be sacrificed, just because of whatever his views on one single issue happen to be.
