i have a eclipse gs 2001 one its a 4 cylinder, the one that comes wit turbo is a v6

@av251993 Mitsubishi abandoned the turbo on the 00-05 Eclipse models. The last models to have a turbo were the DSM Eclipses from 95-99. While the V6 GT can outperform the i4 turbos, it does not have a turbo (as much as we all might wish it did...)

i would def not put a 30$ cold air intake in my eclipse. That's too cheap of an intake and why are u guys asking if its a 4 cylinder if its a GS its gonna be a V6.

@TaskForceRanger48 the RS and GS trims are the 2.4L inline 4 and the GT and GTS trims are the 3.0L v6

Hey, I have a 2001 eclipse also and I was wondering if you also have a custom exhaust on yours as well or is the sound just from the cold air intake?

@miniman077 at the time of this video i only had the intake (all of the sound was from that)... but now i have a bolt on cat back exhaust that is resonated plus some other things... there is an exaust clip on my channel if you wanna check it out

@akonvict mine has been very reliable the only thing that went wrong is that one of the ignition coils melted but i replaced all the coils and wires for about $160 and 10 minutes to replace. also the engine is really easy to work on... and the only real cosmetic isue was the dashboard cracks all over the place and i hear it is a very common issue

@EnfiniZH actually it is known to give you slightly better gas millage because it makes your engine more efficient ( meaning your engine does not have to work as hard to bring in the air because the intake is now less restrictive) hope this helps

@goalie62633 i would but im getting an extra performance chip also and im good friends with the guy thats gonna do it for me so ill just hav him put it on for me wen he installs the chip and plus i got the $300 intake not the $30 one so its a lot bigger and i dont want to fuck it up somehow

@pbman2277 all you need is a few simple tools and yes some common sence and its as easy as removing the old air box and replacing it with the new intake

hi i bought the cold air intake off of eBay a couple of months ago and it was about 30 bucks (really cheap compared to some cold air intakes but very good quality). what the cold air intake does is replaces the old intake system with a new one that is has a bigger diameter and a big cone air filter which allows air to flow through better. also it brings the intake farther away from the engine in which colder air is brought to the intake manifold (cold air actually burns better)

so the cold air intake will add about 7-15 horse power and give you better throttle response and make the engine sound a lot better (as displayed in the video)
