  • Does the image show from behind 2?

  • useful in the window of cars

  • scouter..

  • thats cool but...

where is the sense to look trough a screen? :/

    this is cool, but stupid!!

  • @TheKiwiSniper You did hear the parts about possible applications right??? HUD's, gaming, information relays, health monitors, flexible displays etc. You are probably the same person who would have said LCD monitors are useless when they first came out.

  • @TheKiwiSniper And apparently you can watch korean people do yoga if you're into that stuff.

  • @TheKiwiSniper um use your brain. this can be applied to car windshields, where gps can be utilized in real time, and of the real roads in front of you. so an arrow can guid you, without you having to look at another screen.

  • @JourneyKorea maybe.. i dont know

  • @TheKiwiSniper Apparently later you could stack them together to create transparent cubes which produce 3D images.

  • are videos/pictures only on "surface" or is possible to do thick transparent version and to see real 3D graphic objects "inside" this thick transparent glass ?

    :-)))

  • who's thinking sunglasses thumbs up

  • so is it available yet or not

  • this girl in 3d will be in hologram lol

  • Who is the women in the video I want to marry her!

  • future 3d head mount display(eyeglasses type) must require this technology I believe. people around you would not notice that you are using your glasses as a display, I think only one side of the panel can be used as a display, the other side must be thoroughly transparent.

  • This is Briliant,it's what i have been waiting for for ages .With this technology you

could create virtual objects in rooms .You put a pair of clear glasses on so u can see

the room but now we can create an image of an object in the clear lens .And with

Position sensors in the room to track the postion of glasses the image can remain

in a fixed place in thhe room .A VIRTUAL 3D object in REAL space that you can walk around .

  • this is going to be the future of the display,,, at work and home,, i remember in the movie matrix revolution, the control working by touching what seems to be a transparent touchscreen display. Shit, everything we see in Sci-Fi is becoming real. This display can also be applied to smartphone or devices that use a lot of augmented reality like jetfighter's helmets for eg.

  • @browndt yes but why? The screen is transparent, it is absolutely useless! It is not like 3D or hologram or whatever, it is just a transparent screen, it is ridiculously useless.

  • @simba90s it's useless, but cool.. of couse! just little kids will buy it for their pcs to be cool ;)

  • Why would I want to look through my screen?

  • @MegaEliteMan Because your screen could also serve as one of the windows in your house/apartment, or a heads up display in your cars winshield (no more looking away from the road to glance at a speedometer or GPS), or a heads up display in a pair of glasses, or any of the other numerour places to put a heads up display.

  • By the end of 2011 will be available by Samsung. it's almost 2011.

  • Im sure that they will be implanted with the transparency to be either more or less. But look at that! ITS THIN AS PAPER and VERY portable and FLEXIBLE! iPad move over. Im sure soon enough it will have video calling. this is a concept model from January 2009. And as early as 2006 their prototypes emerged on YouTube. maybe this has been in the works since 2003. I think now it's ready to be commercialized now that it's catching up.

  • That is what the image looked like when R2D2 showed them Princess Leia's message.

  • OLED Display making watching porns on a laptop harder and less inconspicuous since 2009

  • OLED Display making watching porn on a laptop harder and less inconspicuous since 2009

  • what's the point? It only makes the screen harder to see because of the distracting things behind it lol

  • Oh, and btw... did anyone see what it said aboud the Color Gamut? It was the spec at the bottom...

  • oooh yeah... I would love an OLED 200 hz display for gaming and every need.

All I need now is millions of cash.

  • What's breakthrough technology? The laptop? or a woman exercising?

  • @lazzer408 That the screen is see-through. It employs transparent organic LEDs. As cheesy as it sounds, think Minority Report.

  • @FinalStrife7 I really didn't need an explanation. You can do the same thing with LCD if you pull the diffuser? out.

  • @lazzer408 Ignoring that such a screen is much more complex than simply "pulling the diffuser", then why did you play dumb and ask what the breakthrough technology was? If your comment was supposed to be sarcastic, implying this technology is nothing new, then your sentence didn't reflect that sarcasm

  • @FinalStrife7 Are you really that dense?

  • @lazzer408 You can do better than falling back on not addressing any of my points through faux condescension, can't you? I realize that ad hominems are enough to incite the average youtube user, but, come on, really? If my points fail, say how. If they hold but you disagree with them out of stubbornness, why the ad hominem?

  • @FinalStrife7 My first post was meant to be sarcastic. Thank you for giving me the answer to my second post. There's very few "technological developments" that I find impressive. It's "neat" but serves humanity no purpose. We have larger problems on earth to deal with and inventing more toys doesn't solve any them. Look behind the curtain.

  • @lazzer408 I'm aware of the perception of novelty in such advances. I guess I still view breakthroughs from a mid-20th century viewpoint (I'm 24) when the public was much less desensitized to them by computer graphics, at which point these days the breakthroughs are having to catch up to the "reality" they've been given in the media. Either way, this device certainly won't end world hunger, but the possibilities this kind of thing opens up are myriad and that alone is impressive (to me).

  • Response time: <0.01ms

    lol

  • Nice product ! thanks for the Demo !

  • soooo distracting i already forgot what he said, but I remember the boobs

  • Can they put it in visors, Halo?

  • Probably not the best video to display when telling people how it won't be distracting ;)

  • Oh dear god at that hawt lady!

  • I would make shower door's with that stuff and make video's of women showering... Now that would add a new level to POOPING!!!

  • Lol you can watch porn now straight on your sunglasses while talking to someone

  • @GodPiggyX That or make a scouter.

  • i could see through it

  • make it so my bedroom windows can look like Tony Stark's from Iron Man and then we'll talk.

  • Finally!!! I can make that real Master Chief helmet I've been wanting!

  • Arrr i would have liked to see the backside too

  • Augmented reality goggles or helmet visor for fighter pilots, motorcycle, etc etc. Astronaut.

  • why would you wanna look through it?

  • windsheid

  • to see whats on the other side.

  • thats distracting i want to see tv not my lil brother

  • @kbolamak As they said i.g. GPS can display info on your window in your car...

  • @kbolamak HUD, scanner, information display, just think about not watching movies, playing games and you have lots of things.

  • @kbolamak

if you put that display on the motorcycle helmet. you can have navigator that doesn't distracting you. What about information board on the road for passenger. show window, medical usage...ext.

    this is breakthrough tech.

  • Samsung are an awesome company!

  • A long awaited thing. I'm hoping to see this soon on the market: it's a key technology for augmented reality.

  • so cool! (;

  • This is SamSung

  • When they make a frameless/beveless version of this @ 24" i will certainly know I am in the future... I felt like this the 1st time I spoke to a popular search engine to look things up for me... Our generation is lucky... wonder if we will live to see true AI???

  • @DanePax Yes, then we will die because of the takeover.

  • LOL 0:34

Not distract? with a hot Asian doing that my eyes would not be on the road LOL

  • holly shitt¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ we live in the future already

  • Yeah, just like the computers in Minority report and Avatar.

  • Lol would be insane to run windows on my windows!

  • @pho1nx you can run windows on windows now with disassembled lcd (they seem to be more transparent than this oled (black areas))

  • @seindich disassembled LCDs would require backlighting (sunlight), these generate their own light and would work in any light conditions.

  • @jgt2598 yes, i know and many times saw, but the black areas on this display seem too dark (any way it is cool) but i think it would be much better with a little improvement

  • @seindich Agreed. With a little work, this technology will awesome.

  • Ajebbb ..

  • cool no more cockroaches behind the tv now :D

  • you most certainly are

  • just brilliant!

  • Mais excellent ! Imaginez, la TV OLED désormais au centre d'une pièce, et nous confortablement installé tout autour ? J'en veux un ;)

  • imagine this combined with natal

  • a completely unremarkable imagination. Which part of it am I supposed to say "wow" to?

  • ..............................................

  • Epic

  • boobs

  • Make it an overlay for a windshield, and have the GPS path be displayed over the road you see perfectly, could be a like a HUD.

  • There was a time James Bond would present a breaktrough technology of a watch witha cam built-in. Now, the spy is having a hard time to keep up with the everyday new techs.

    This OLED is just impressive...

  • I can imagine with many of this some king of 3d hologram

  • that is dope

  • exelente tecnologia. vai ajudar muito, ou criar problemas que nao tinhamos. isso pode ser usado para simular um dia lindo na sua janela OU uma cortina. ou um gps no parabrisa.

  • Cool!

  • boobbbb

  • Koreans make awsome technology...

  • This could make the 'Mission Impossible glasses/sun shades' a reality. Once again science have shown that what have been considered "science fiction" in the past are now 'science fact'. Cool to see! 8)

  • WOW

  • where's sony? i wonder what they will make once they see this.......

  • Sony is buy making videogames....

  • Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente Ente

  • nice

  • this should be awesome in my window :P

  • lol. you inspire me.

  • I'm in better shape then those guys and that girl =)

Screen looks cool though doesn't look too bright like OLEDs from last CES 08.

Can't use damn LCD they make me sick Nausea it's unfair but that is life.

  • Imagine the instrument cluster and HUD integrated with the canopy in fighter aircraft.

  • Would be good on a car windscreen as well for sat nav and better placement of things like BMW's night vision display.

  • Or have a night vision camera mounted on the hood, in the middle of the windshield, or above it, then have this see through screen overlay the whole windshield, and at night, it would display nightvision over everything you see.

  • Comment removed

  • ja..............

  • samsung... simply the greatest...

  • NOBODY has commented on the hot girl doing excersices.... wtf!

  • Incredible, A response to both

  • I commented, a month ago. Although good point, she is doing exercises; hadn't noticed.

  • fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap

  • LOL

  • It seems to be lacking green. I guess still a prototype...

  • ...do you see the yellowish ball? Think about color would make that.

It's the video that lacks pretty scenery to make a nice and distinguished green.

  • ok so there was flixable, thin, and 2000p tvs at ces!

  • It's very simple. It's like a HUD, with GPS' now they hang off the window inside or sit on the dash and you can't see through a car GPS, this HUD type system allows you to see through it. Just like a HUD in modern aircraft (military/civilian). This is awesome technology!

  • I wonder how will it look if you put several of these one behind the other and display slices of a 3d object.

  • They use basic one colour green OLED screens in military aircraft for guidence ect. But I think chicks doing gym in colour are better than missle guidence info.

  • Wow, that girl is hot (I want one!)

  • Hey....these were on Cowboy Beebop!!

  • Hey....didn't they have these on Cowboy Beebop?!

  • Its witchcraft i tells ya

  • The truth is out there.

  • AND THIS DOES WHAT ELSE

  • Light weight, compact size, thin and slick design.

Nothing more than your everyday TV. But Hey. The lightbulb.. It only lights up, what else do you expect for it to do?

The lightbulbs is a seed of technology.

The Samsung Transparent OLED Display is a seed of technology.

They are no different from one another, so how could you possibly as such a stupid question?

  • and here comes the future

  • what the heck LOL you caught me off guard with that one hahaha that was hilarious ... haha good job you guys made me luagh [=

  • amazing

  • I like where this is going, might lead to some 3D projection of some sort =O

  • 와우

  • Wow is right my friend...
