thank you sir for not giving money to towel heads. now...i have seen some odd comments, turbo aid propane combustion? you can run propane in any vehicle as a catalyst or standalone fuel, a line from tank to intake with a fuel pump shutoff, a solenoid that read throttle position done. the issue with e85 is that the car needs to adapt to the lower btu rating, needs to know how to change timing, and increase injector on time/or fuel pressure. some vehicle adapt better than others.
Turbo cars have nothing to do with being able to run on propone or ethanol, the only difference between NA's and A's is that obvs one has a turbo. or supercharger.. they need to be tuned.
and yeah it probs can if it has a carby, wouldnt have a fuel sensor. or any of that these injected cars do..
I've been blending E85 in my 99 Taurus for about a year now and have had no problems. Its not one of the ones made for flex fuel. This week I put in 8 gallons of E85 and the balance is mid-grade gas.
No check engine light, no hard starting problem. A quick calculation of percentage would show I'm running about an E-40 blend overall.
Quick Question, I own a Toyota Celica, a 92, and the the speedometer goes to like idk 125, so im guessing you put in a new one......and somehow your car, which the models are 4 cyl. and maybe v-6 i believe has the acceleration of what looks like a freakin v-12??
CelicaE85 answer: Toyota Celica GTi 2,0/16valve orgin except a kit from roadster se an air004-kit for e85
After some time the gaskets may not perform well. The reaction of some gasket materials to E85 (or even any ehtanol blend above E20) is not the same as for regular gas.

yes there is. its a higher octane. and in a car without forged pistons, you will eventually stand a chance of melting the cast pistons. all you need to do to prevent this is to advance your timing by 2 degrees.
87 octane is only 10% ethanol there is a big difference
to every one that must make fun of him don't do it here just know in you heart that he will brake his car and have no clue how to fix it and daddy will by a new one for him
well the English somehow left you but i get the point this comment is like 4 months old if you are running the car on e85 100% and nothing has happened to any part of it and runs strong good for you
i may try it in my truck its just a toy , s 10 wth a 350 5.7 ,Holley 600 i may get 20% bigger jets and see what blows up
So, please... Tell us how it went down. Carburettor-engines are a bit trickier to covert to E85 because they don't have a computerised adjustment of the fuel/air ratio. It needs to change from 14:1 to ~9:1. Change needle. With a fuel-injected car, the ECU takes care of most of that. CelicaE85 increased the fuel-pressure a bit to help squeeze more fuel through the injectors, and while that doesn't fully compensate for the increased need for fuel, it certainly helps the ECU adjust.

LOL!
do your research kid.

@EJracerboy15 well i have seen some newer cars tuned to run on it and old chevy 350 can run on propane

@jayguy173
they have to be set up properly too.

you dont have to change anything to do this all you have to do is slowly mix in e85 and let computer learn.

How did you convert the motor? Changing fuel system parts?

did you tune for e85 or just throw it in?
killthemall1986 4 years ago
throw it u nut head. thier is no diffence between E85 and normal shit.
airpower123 3 years ago
then obviously you know nothing about cars because if you just throw it in it will run like crap unless its tuned for it
killthemall1986 3 years ago
nope, i got a 91 mr2 with a 5s-fe. Put some e85 in to test.Ran fine. no tuning needed. E85 is like equal to yo regular at the pump.

then u both are idiots killthemall is right a basic 4 stroke engine with E85 lowers its efficiency.

E85 is 100 - 105 octane its sure not regular

Correkt ! Over 100okt and you can put in more e85 than gas if y like...
CelicaE85 2 years ago
I beleve its the same engine, i have only risened the fuel pressure about 1atm/1kg/cm2 so not damage fuelpump by fool...
Kep on with the ethanol...As y see bad spelling...from North Sweden
CelicaE85 2 years ago
Okay for your thinking...Hope you try e85 sometime in your gasoline ride...

Didn't you know Ethanol runs cooler than Petrol? Ethanol sucks heat away as it evaporates (from liquid to gas).

e 85 it is 85% ethanol 15% gas
87 octane is only 10% ethanol there is a big difference
