one of the magazines did that they had a pro racer ride different bikes against one of the writers the writer had a 450 and the pro beat him on every bike down to a 80cc 2 stroke so i think its alot about rider ability

youd have to be pretty bad or have never ridden a dirtbike before to have aguy on a 50 beat a guy on a 450, even if you had ricky carmichael on the 50 and me on the 450, id win, its not 100 percent rider ability id say its like 70% rider ability and 30 percent vehcile capability

I agree with that completely, if an inexperienced rider is on a bigger bike, he most definately will have a slower lap time on the bigger bike....well i do on my dad's 250 at least lol vs my 125

well the new 2-stroke motocross bikes have less low eand torque so the 4-strokes go faster, 2-strokes will need minor repairing but its much cheaper than repairing a 4-stroke. pm me if you want to know more

im not really sure because i dont own one but i think if your small then a pit bike is better or if your a litte bit bigger then a dirt bike is better but it all depenps on your age

if your small DO NOT GET A PIT BIKE. pit bike are modified child's bikes. get a regular dirt bike that's your size. pit bikes arnt for lil kids or small people. pit bikes are often more powerful than regular dirt bikes.
