I did a lot of immersion training for French in middle school about 12 years ago. I learned more that way than in any number of classes.

Why? Major studies have been done regarding how and why children at a young age learn their Language skills faster. It's rather "elementary"........ They are learning everything at a faster rate then they ever will. As for "windows" of time; those windows have shown to last far longer than first obsered. Ask an adult in the peace corp how fast they learned spanish when needed, instead of as an interest. All rest in human survial of the fitess. Sorry, but no magic going on.

This is very good. There is a window of time when the brain simply absorbs faster. I think its to do with less inhibitions , willingness for repetition and pursuit of fun.
