  • check Let the right one in - it has subtitles, but is a great vampire movie.

  • National Lampoon's Last Resort starring the 2 Coreys is possibly the worst movie ever made, imo.

  • Jeff, the most honest of all them lol.

  • Need Frank Darabonts SALEM'S LOT. He did so well with his 3 King adaptations. The tv movie didn't do it justice. Early Stephen King full novel that needs to be done properly.

  • Do you guys shoot on a green screen and digitize the black background?

  • to good vampire films . let the right one in, the hunger

  • Billy Zane was NOT in Lost Boys

  • @ChrisPardal sorry billy wirth

  • I never thought of Near Dark as a vampire movie, if felt to me more like a different take and what vampires are supposed to be and that its kinda more like a desease that can be cured and i liked that idea.

  • Now you guys have to make a show on werewolves’ movies. Great Review!

  • Billy Zane is NOT in LOST BOYS.

  • @214scifi We meant Billy Wirth.

  • new moon is actually a pretty great film. it's weighed down by people's too cool for the room preconceptions but as far as romances go, it's a very very satisfying watch. most people will judge it without seeing it.

  • @tmanxxxx Sorry, ain't going there!

  • Twilight SUCKS! It's the only time I've ever tried to sleep during a film because I was BORED!

  • I really enjoyed 'Stakeland' Loved 'Let The Right One In' & Romero's 'Martin'

Check out a British TV series from the 90's called 'Ultraviolet' featuring early appearances from Idris Elba and Stephen Moyer

  • Interesting topic. I hope we get a part 2. This genre has got lots of cool films since the 80´s. Nice to see Jeff fired up and ready to go. Congrats to Mike!

  • You guys got one missing leg in that roundtable!

  • Just thought I'd thank y'all in advance for doing this episode. I haven't watched it yet but I already like it. Thumbs up!!

  • I haven't seen the Blu-ray fortunately but Lionsgate's cover artwork for Near Dark is *TERRIBLE*. Like they're trying to make Near Dark appeal to the Twilight crowd. You're much better off getting a used copy of one of the Anchor Bay DVDs.

  • @CarrionBlack Very true. It's worth picking up the Anchor Bay DVD for the cover alone.

  • Congrates to Mike.. Bout time a new show came out.. This episode needs a part 2 as there are more vamp movies you didn't talk about like the grace jones 80's movie Vamp.. Which i dig.. Fright night 2.. Not as good as part 1 but still decent.. Ect. I've only found out about your show recently but i gotta say they don't seem long enough and always seem over before they start.. If they are really once a month then you guys should do like an hour long show!

  • josh miller is good in rivers edge as well but dennis hopper owns that movie

  • One of my favorite modern vampire films from the 80s is Tony Scott's The Hunger, which features Catherine Deneuve, Susan Sarandon and a wonderfully quirky role for David Bowie. The film sort of has "art house" aspirations that are perhaps not fully realized but it's wonderfully stylish and moody... and who can forget that opening scene with Bauhaus, like it's trying to be an erotic Daughters of Darkness for the post-punk set. Wonderful!

  • SHAMPIRES!

  • Twilight does suck. Great vampire choices fellas. Two more vampire movies that kick ass are FROM DUSK TILL DAWN and John Carpenters VAMPIRES. We need kick ass vampires back on the big screen!!!

  • I hear you dudes!!! My wife loves this shit!!! Me, give me something else like Let the Right One In. Now That's scary!!!

  • I recently worked with a guy who claims to have done stunt work on the original Fright Night.

What do you folks think of Shadow of the Vampire?

  • @TrekBeatTK Good performance from Dafoe, but movie was not very involving.

  • It was nice to hear the mentioning of Strange Days, I actually sent in a request for them to review it once, and mostly agree with the problems about it's ending.

  • Good to see you guys back-its been too long. Also yeah twilight is heaps shit and while I would say the films destroyed the books...lets face it

THE BOOKS ARE SHIT AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Best of luck to Mike and his life partner Gregory. I'm sure their new Korean import will bring all kinds of joy and fulfillment.

  • @Jeffholdsworth This post is pure slander. Everyone knows Mike is in a happy, and healthy relationship with Christopher Plummer.

  • @MrMichaelblake I think you mean Richard Lynch.

  • Yes v good show, but guys, would love to hear your ideas on The Hunger (1983).

  • i'm surprised u guys didnt talk about iwav....that movie was awesome and

    young kirsten dunst was phenomenal.

although near dark would indeed be up there as the best modern vamp film.

    and blade/underworld anyone? lolz

  • GREAT SHOW!!! Greetings from Sweden. Just remind me i was missing Fright Night in my collection. I'll fix that in a blink. Greetings from Sweden!

  • My favorite show on earth.

  • another good show and more films for me to check out thanks

  • I kinda feel about the Twilight series the same way I feel about Sex and The City: it's nothing but eye candy (guys with Twilight, clothes and lady-talk with SATC) with little to nothing beyond "flashy" imagery. There's literally nothing to like about Twilight (stupidity and illogic reign). And YESSSS, you talked about NEAR DARK, my favorite modern vampire movie.

  • I liked the remake of FRIGHT NIGHT quite a bit. The script was much more complete than the original. Not putting down the original; I will always be nostalgic for the original. But there were a lot of plotholes in the 1980s FRIGHT NIGHT, and I was very uncomfortable with the idea that Amy is Jerry's reincarnated girlfriend. With the new one, it seemed much more complete and thought out. And I loved that Jerry was a malicious vampire. It was scarier.

  • I think it's cool Jeff has watched all the twilight movies, but I can't bring myself to watch any of those shitty movies with a clear conscience.

  • and wow Mike got laid lol

  • finally fukers lol quit u day jobs

  • @feyd8194 Then give us money and put us on network TV!

  • @cinefiles you know i wud man

  • Wow, I remember watching NEar Dark at my local Drive-in cinema! Great memories, man... good review guys!

  • I hate twilight, i seen for the first one, hated every minute of it. But i have to say, my sister has seen all of them and she hates them too, but i agree with her when she says she doesnt blame the poeple who make the film or write the film she blames the lady who wrote the books and shes read all the books as well and she even said there even worse then the film.
