  • too much oil, not healthy ????

  • I agree... Maybe it is for Master Ng (The Kung Fu Master from TVB used to drink oil and eat charcoal)...

  • That's a lot of oil...

  • does she know what she is talking about!?

  • which portion of beef? I generally use flank steak, or top sirlon. Does it work just as well with tri-tip, cross rib roast?

  • she said "dont put salt to marinate the beef b/c it will drains the water out" - alrite that makes sense! she then continued: "BUT you have to use SOY SAUCE, corn starch & sugar to sauteed the beef". wat da...???

  • yeah... makes sense to me... i think she means like... a corn starch water slurry... not sure about the sugar though.. but slurry + soysauce + meat juices can make a sauce type thing in the pan?

  • if she suggests not to use salt to marinate cuz it dries the beef, i wonder y she would use soy sauce to marinate while soyce sauce is not a lot different than salt. Soy sauce = soy + SALT!!! i mean soy sauce is just as salty as salt itself but with the soy flavor.

  • soy sauce is liquid?

  • there's no salt in soy sauce???? look at the amount of sodium per serving in the nutrition facts! Why do you think that soy sauce is salty without adding salt into it? So you think soy beans are naturally salty??? the reason your meat is not dried only because of the oil you add to marinate it. Oil is hydrophilic and therefore can trap water inside the meat, locking the moisture.

  • i think u misunderstood my comment. Here's what I wrote: she said "dont put salt to marinate the beef b/c it will drains the water out" - alrite that makes sense! she then continued: "BUT you have to use SOY SAUCE, corn starch & sugar to sauteed the beef". wat da? what part of my comment implies that I'd use salt to marinate beef??? By the way, it's not "does not dries" it's "does not DRY" - the infinitive form of the verb. To answer ur q, I DO cook & prob. i'm a better cook than most of u.

  • I was thinking the same thing. Someone?

  • I think the oil will separated from the meat once it is been fried.!
