See, I live in Duluth, Minnesota and everyone says that our storms are just horrible. But you know what? We rarely get storms every winter that top a foot and a half, and they are few and far between too. I believe we average about 80 inches a year. Now, I have no idea what Denver averages (I'm guessing it may be a little less), but I know Denver can get huge snows often. How much did you get here? 3 or 4 feet? I've never seen that much snow in my life! That looks like an amazing storm!

@uwwtp The snow was blowing off the roof not melting. It was windy. It happens all the time at my house in the winter. It could snow 3 feet and some parts of the roof are clear because the slopes of the roof create weird wind patterns. It just blows around not melts.

@uwwtp... Ha! .. people have said that .. remember it was very windy! and very COLD. put a piece of paper on my roof in that storm ... It wouldn't last long when the winds come up. Same thing. do I have the best insulated home? NO! but it's not that bad! :) Thanks.

@mkalush I'm going to second the importance of good insulation. It really really really cuts electric and gas bills. I've lived in many houses and there was a big difference between the poorly insulated ones and the well insulated ones. I lived in one that was particularly well insulated and it never got hot and never got cold.

Reminds me of a time I broke down in Spokeanne Wa. They tried and tried to fix the truck but they could not get it fixed. I spent 3 days in that motel best thing was it had a hot tub and no one there thought that going in there in the cold was a great idea. I had the thing all to myself.
