Thanks for posting this. My spouse found it and hopes it will help with this recurrence. April 06 I was dx with Herniated and torn discs at L4-5 and L5-S1, with major nerve impingement. Had epidural nerve block procedures to reduce severe inflammation but it was the p/t that helped most. Careful Pelvic tilts were the first steps. Symptoms recurring, want to begin helping myself. Can you show how to MODIFY this for someone like me? Advice appreciated & kudos to you for this help
Hy there! do you have some videos of facial mussels or how to posture your spine neck i would love to buy some of your DVD for exercise and did that exercise yesterday but was some problem with poor breath. I slept very nice and my acid reflux was better i didn't use two pillows I felt very good it help a lot just my second day i notice some improvement THANK YOU!!.
Hi back! :) Great to hear all the results you're getting from the Lifts! For spine and neck, I have lots of information on my site. There's even the Lion Pose for your face. So you might like to browse and see what helps you out. Sorry to say I have no DVDs available at the moment, but lots of free stuff here on YouTube and more coming.
Hy there! it me again hope you OK, I don't know what to say but thanks to your exercises and I checked your website I find some other exercises my favorite is chest expansion it help me to really fill up my lungs, diaphragm, abdominal and when I breath in I can feel my chest expand and my breath has increased I used to take short breath now I take full but I used to feel like I'm loosing ground light headache but when i stop it pass do you know why?
Do you mean you're feeling light headache etc when you're doing the chest breathing? If so, then it's can mean that you're getting more oxygen than you're used to. That goes away or at least becomes lessened as you do the exercise more often. Try taking longer to breathe out. *It can also mean you have high blood pressure, so you might want to get that checked.*
Hi, simdisiwe. I'm so glad you're finding things on the site that are helping you with your breathing and that you're noticing differences! Good breathing *does* make such a difference! Now, about the 'light headedness' and the headache feeling... I'll put my thoughts into the next comment post.
Yes, I hear you! It really revs up your blood pressure while you do them, but then helps control it when you're not doing them. How's your blood pressure? If it's high and untreated, you shouldn't do these.
You did that many - after dinner?!!! And held your dinner down?? LOL You'll find that you can practically double them if you do them on an empty stomach. It's great for warming up your breathing for your gym workout, too. Hey, let me know how it goes.
Using your hands to help the movement is OK to get your body to learn to do it, but it won't be much of a workout, so you won't get a lot of abdominal strengthening from that.
What can work better is if you just try tucking your tummy in a little, using the muscles and not your hands. Just pull in the muscles as far as they'll go and then let them go. It won't look like the video, but it will start strengthening and loosening your abdominals, (which is the goal of the exercise). Doing it this way means that one day you will be able to do the full lifts.
Try doing three sets of that tucking your tummy in (that I described in my last post) every morning and in a week or two you'll discover that you can do them deeper. By about 6 weeks they'll start being more like the video.
Thank you so much i love this exercise i look forward to improvement my problem is to control air I grew up sucking in my stomach now if I let my stomach hangout I fell very week
Interesting that so many people grew up being told to suck in their stomachs. But really, your belly and back will be stronger if you don't do that. So a lot of people have trouble with just letting the stomach go. This makes it more flexible and more able to be flat when you're not doing the exercise.
why are you smiling like that??
