You are a life saver!!!! I needed to take a red ribbon from around a tree and I struggled for an hour trying to figure it out on my own. A couple of minutes with your video and I was successful. Thank you so much.
I'm a noob with Photoshop. I tried but it my Photoshop keeps saying "Could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined... grrr...
@Stelena727 The area to clone has to be defined by using the clone stamp and by clicking "Alt " on your keyboard. I'm sorry for what I whote in my first comment and I really hope it helps you :)
Thank you! When you first started taking the people out of the photo by using the stamp tool, did you have to click anything or did you just start holding down the mouse and moving it around?-thanks again!
@1changgirl then it's possible the type of image isn't possible to clone without rasterizing it first, you do so by right clicking on the picture layer and click on rasterize layer.
just like a normal stamp, you first press it on ink (i.e the area you want to cover the object with) by pressing alt and clicking on that area. then you simply click on want to hide. :)
WHY did he NOT show the QUICK KEYS? because... clicking them would teach U nothing- U don't even KNOW the steps to GET HERE ? so how the $k are U gona use them? (Oh & Maori's CAN WRITE - NZ ENGLISH - jusy not Maori ((as I am sure the same "daft" SOMEONE's will try to SAY - I meant couldn't write at all))
Hey ?>? U guys try making a tutorial video - on a subject U LIKE & ENJOY... and see HOW DAM HARD it actually "is" when trying to simplify these? YES he went way too fast & assumed too much (U WOULD TOO) ... as it is a basic human trait- that IF WE know something - we assume everyone knows & just want an "overview' of functionality... not FINE ORINT DETAIL.
WOULD that double "layer" thing allow me to "cut & paste" some entirely DIFFERENT red brick wall - from another picture? and "meld these two together?
A-L-L-ryt... this is near exactly WHAT has taken me nearly three years of click a pixel & check click again& ?oops.. has taken (my only problem is this? I am trying to "RE_BUILD" the hidden red, brick "mural" wall - that was HIDDEN by the other people - in a wedding photo?
I am absolutely "certain" - that these same people here (who ask some realy dumb questions) -would attack (say) an 8 minute intro OF ??? HOW TO LEARN MAORI - would say OH they didn't learn as YOU didn't show the links to click? People - even "photo_hide" programs TAKE WEEKS TO LEARN- (& so a few clicks teach nothing) NOW - just try Maori-? (when) most NZ Maori's LIVING - can't even SPEAK MAORI - let alone write? & no 8 minute "intro" would TEACH THEM - as U expect this?- to teach U photo-cut?
i want to remove writing that is on top of a logo which is on top of a background with a bunch of polka dots (that are not randomly distributed but in a pattern) how would i go about doing that???
awesome tutorial, thans!

eh i am trying to remove un object... but when i use the clone stamp nothing happens... it doesnt clone anything
arontao 1 year ago
@arontao See if you got 100 % opacity and flow. And also, set the mode to normal.
And of course, make sure that you clone from the right layer. It won't do anything if you're cloning from empty spaces.
If either of these works, I don't know.

I have a wedding pic of me and my wife...how ever a friend ruined it....as he was in the middle....
i don't have photoshop but i have a cheap HP printer/scanner....but the resolution isn't that great....so photo wouldn't be that clear...
Is there a place that you can recommend that i can take this to be fixed and remove the friend?
I don't have the $ to spend on Photoshop...
