AQ is a much better hand to call with than 88. AQ is only in bad shape against AK, QQ, KK, AA. 88 is miles behind any bigger pair. Dont call people idiots when you dont even understand the basics

Just to clarify, 88 is a better hand than AQ as it wins against AQ more than half the time, but I'll agree that 88 is easier to be dominated with. There is NO way Ferguson is calling a raise AND a reraise with AQ, it's to easily dominated. Therefore it's silly for him to think he has Chris dominated. I agree, "idiot" is a bit harsh, but he was irritating me :)

so by that rationale, is 22 a better hand than AQ? Or even AK? Its a favourite against that SPECIFIC hand, but against the RANGE of hands your opponent is likely to raise with, AQ does way better than 22, and slightly better than 88. If you actually think 22 is a better hand than AK (which would follow from this logic) then you're just plain wrong.. but fair enough, AQ and 88 dont have that much to seperate them. And drakie, how often do you see your opponents cards before a decision like this?

AQ vs 88 is about 48 to 52% for the 8's... I'd always put my money in with the 88s if i see those cards... its an EV + choice

22 IS a better hand than AK heads up, and if you don't believe me, ask Doyle Brunson. He said he would rather have 22 vs AK and run it 100 times heads up because as everyone knows it is a mathematical favourite. But yes, if I had to CALL an all in, I'd rather have AQ than 22. You're still missing the point though, so this is pointless.
