  • nope he can't sing... but damn can he play!

  • If I had been there, I'd have thrown my beer. Dude can't sing to save his life.

  • just a friendly advice: try to sing different

  • after i heard vocals it threw me off... it ruined the song

  • Thats some gritty shit. Likey

  • sorry.. i just cant get with his vocals :(

  • wow thats awesome

  • oooph how bout that singing...

  • Hmmm, i just saw his ellisguitars promo (CLASSICAL BODY STEEL STRING BUBINGA ROSEWOOD) - totally different sound, style, skill. By comparison to his OWN playing, this sounds out of tune, sloppy and painful as the lyrics say - but maybe that's the point of the song - playing it this way. He's singing he "can't stand the pain in his hands." No dis, no joke. He IS really good & he can sing!!! i just had to hear his other music, couldn't HONESTLY tell from this. It's worth hearing more of him

  • some of the best were out of tune. stop pickin hairs.

  • awesome

  • Wow...great...(in italian...FORTE QUESTO PEZZO, MI PIACE HA UN BEL GROOVE, LA VOCE è PARTICOLARE)

  • Great voice. Sounds like Jim Morrison crossed with Tom Waits!!!!!

  • That's exactly what I'm thinking !!! ;)

  • I haven't listened to this in a while, but it's fucking awesome!

  • seems like a face voice.. but musics good :D

  • some good shit dude :D

  • his voice is sort of like Ian Curtis's except with an American accent.

  • omg great!!!

  • anyone kno the key of his harmonica?

  • Blues Harmonica=Perfect 4th above the key the song is in... so, this song is in A(baritone guitars are tuned to A), so the harmonica is most likely in D. (Straight Major Harmonica=same key as the song)

  • look on the side at the beginning...*facepalm*

  • First time I saw him (Im a female musician) he is really good. 5/5 love the video

PLEASE go to my favorites (I only have 3) click on SUBURBAN GUY ROCKIN OUT

he is self-taught, really feels what he plays and improvises as he goes along. the other 2 favs are him also ARIEL and ARIEL SIMANTOV

pls view comment and rate them as we think he deserves recognition. thanks everyone!

  • If you check out some of his other videos tou will see that he dosnt always sing like this. I think his voice suits the song well anyway. And foremost James's main talent is his guitar playing, simply awesome

  • Awesome!

  • Doesn't he look a bit like David Eugene Edwards?

  • the drummer looks like iron man.

  • haha sure.

    Nice voice by the way

  • the drummer looks like dave grohl

  • How nice to hear this!!!!!!

  • if you think this guy can sing must think everyone can sing

  • he can rock for shure, and youre hearing this from a metalhead

  • Let's see you sing and play pal eh? I think James voice is killer. Nobody sounds like him. Can't say that for the typical top 40 frign clones.

  • What is wrong with you people? The singing kicks ass.

  • thats great love it

  • Sounds like ian curtis!!

  • its true.... he looks a little him too.

the playing is good, but the vocal doesn't seem to match.

  • Ahhh the Good News Blues!

  • what the hell is an amazing distortion sound!!

  • WOW. Just when I didn't think it was physically possible to play two instruments at once, someone proves me wrong.

  • I dub this guy the best blues musician Ive ever heard. He needs to stop the singing though.

  • I think this guy's singing is rad. And the guitar rocks.

  • who's this guy it's amazing!!

  • It's James Michael Thompson.

  • That cat's in pain.

  • Come on dude its in the desciption.

  • That was awesome very funny music

  • Good guitar playing & the harps not too bad either but maybee singing isn't your thing?

  • Love the guitar - singing is a bit strange though - at least from the traditional blues sort of thing,

  • nah, dont like the vocals at all

  • The more I listen to this the more I start to love the vocals.

  • Completely awesome combination of guitar and harmonica, the intro is wkd! Im not the slightest fan of vocals.. not that great.

  • this guys guitar playing is shit hot.

  • cool.

    creapy vocal

  • I like guys like this that can add a new element to the blues. I can't stand the same old shit over and over. rock on james

  • that was kick ass!! well done

  • groovy man!!!!! very very good....

  • Great video!!

  • buchd151a i have to disagree... alot.

the person you mentioned isnt playing with a slide, nor does he play a resonator, and from the 3 minutes of footage of him that i saw, it wasnt a barritone custom 8 string either. it was just a plain 8 string classical.

You cant say there is someone better at playing this guitar if there isnt another one like it...

  • super cool vibe that will never get boring...

that guitar is a cannon and the vocal is perfect. awesome.

  • Good stuff.

  • got to love the guitar such a big sound

  • Dude i don't wanna give you a hard time - yr great - but to see how one of these things is really played see Egberto Gismonti... But you got the whole Nick Cave thing going there with your voice...

  • Thanks for subscribing! Your harmonica and guitar playing go together really nicely. Nice vocals too!

  • Thanks for subscribing Dude. Hey, you rock dude! You don't even need the vocals, your guitar speaks more than lyrics ever will. Really like the tone, very raw. Nice stuff!

  • DUDE UR FUCKIN AWSOME

  • I don't know if you want my opinion of your music, but here goes... you rock, you have a really groovy sound- I could totally be somewhere chillin and rock out to you, but I'm not to keen on your vocals. Get someone with an awesome voice to sing along with you and you are totally on to something hip. Check out apostrophe by Frank Zappa you sound like one of the vocalists on that album Much love, Sonyatex
