My point is there's no reason to give grapplers hype; most people love to see striking and blood. But if you're a grappler, if you're a wrestler and you know jiu-jitsu, you're going to win time and time again until you meet a better one.

The top heavyweights are on top because they're good, not because of hype. I agree that MMA is still relatively young and that EVERYONE has a LOT of room for improvement (refer to how Silva just... dominates everyone), but it doesn't mean Cain, i.e., is bad.

The point is he proposes to have great technique - but really most of his highlight reel subs have come against guys who dont know what they're doing. Even average guys with good technique can hold him down and pound him out on his back.

I mean Silva is better but got dominated for 20 minutes because his rib was broken and he was looking for a submssion. I think Mir depends too much on his BJJ sometimes and should rely more on his strength and stand up. Nevertheless he is a top ten heavyweight. And you are right Tank is a fat bastard but for some reason he is respected and widely known.

Mir beat an old washed up injured Nog and got a title shot, Carwin beat a sub top 10 Gonzaga, Brock had 3 gift matches the Carwin (who hadnt beaeten anyone good) gassed against him.

The legit heavyweights are guys like Fedor, Barnett, JDS. The ones who've had tough fights and not been spoonfed Cheik Kongo.
