I had seen something like this in a big version in Hamburg,Germany. There they tested a bird with working wings.
As Idea: You could buy some helium an let the propellerthing realy fly

This is the first flying lego I ever saw. Really clever to make your own propellors with lego capes! Did you use the speed remote controll to controll the ride?
I'm going to make this to, altough I don't have those capes to make propellors... :(

It looks like they're both controlled remotely because there are two wires attached to the IR receiver
