Dreamweaver CS4: Define Site Local Root Folder

thanks for the tutorial it was very helpful it helped me a lot but i must be doing wrong somethin if i got to my site i wont come into my site directly instead of that ill get a "index of" in other words i see my folders which i have created and only if i click on the html file i am getting in to my site. So i have to put my domain name including with slach forward index.html. if i dont do this i get in to my folders on my website. Anyone knows what im doing wrong?

Hi tutvid, I had problems with the root folder & found a site that provided the following solution:

This is a known problem. It appears that this bug has been introduced into Dreamweaver by Windows 7 and the latest Service Pack for Vista.

Affects all versions of Dreamweaver. This 'bug' however, doesnt prevent Dreamweaver from working.

Solution:

1. Type in the correct folder name yourself.

2. Alternatively, select a subfolder, and Dreamweaver will select its parent.

when i dubble click a folder, instead of that folder (which i dubble clicked) being selected another folder which came befoe this folder, is being slected. How can i slove this.

good vid. always enjoy them. However, the "index" or main site page is defined by your provider server settings. Most allow indexd, home, default and root with file extensions htm, html, asp, aspx and php. I run my own server, i've changed the default page to be site.aspx (since I use Visual Studio and not DW). Always ask your provider what the "default" page should be named.
