  • This is gorgeous, but I still believe that Kristin Chenoweth sung it better

  • It's nice to see someone classy do it. I didn't know the song could even sound this good! I love Julie Andrews so much!

  • Don't think the arrangement does her justice. Doesn't let her be sultry enough.

  • She is very beautiful!!! :3 <3 Love her!

  • I love Julie but her voice doesn't suit this song. I really want it to but it doesn't :(

  • SHAME to the man that stripped her vocal cords.

i was pleasantly surprised by her ability to deliver this song so strongly. Amazing!

  • Dammit. Julie can do anything. I love her.

  • Soooo pretty!

  • Julie Andrews had a great voice but... Her voice is not for this song. This song requires a strong voice!!! Julie had a soft very beautiful voice. Because of that, I didn't like this version as much (not even near) of the original one. GO Julie Andrews!!!

  • SHE IS NOT HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm so ashamed of myself u.u i didn't know she used to sing

  • It was never her acting that was the problem. That voice doesn't suite that song. I love Julie Andrews and I think she has a remarkable talent. That song requires a lustier set of pipes and not the proper classical sound.

  • What happened to talent like this? This woman is amazing <3

  • Suena muy distinta la canción en voz de Julia

  • sorry this is Liza's song love Julie but Liza is much better on this song

  • Never heard her use her chest voice this much! I love when singers belt! :) Yay Julie!

  • Liza Minelli is better but Julie is another good one.

  • I grew up watching Julie Andrews, mostly in her slightly sugary roles - but there's nothing wrong with that. I never knew she sang this. And what a performance! Great stuff.

  • I've always thought Julie was a beautiful woman. She looks gorgeous here !

  • what play was that ?

  • @Andrenafarah311504 caberet. not sure if i spelled it properly though

  • I'm a huge Julie Andrews fan, but even I didn't expect this to be fantastic because I figured her soft, British voice wouldn't have enough power, but boy did she prove me wrong!

  • she's still beautiful even now, it must be heart-shattering to know that you have to stop singing when it's what you're all about :(

  • I want to be Julie Andrews.

  • What a powerful rendition! The talented lady blown us away this time... and always!

  • This is RICH!!! Thank you SOO much for posting! GOLDEN!!

  • no Julie your not a loser and I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!!!! <3333

  • I love the fact that there's no dislike..haha I love her!

  • i actually prefer this to liza's version

  • Holy! She has a cannon in her!!! I've always loved Andrews, but I've never seen this clip before. Thanks for sharing; it made my day.

  • What an amazing rendition of Maybe This Time by the dazzling Julie Andrews, showing how incredibly wide her range is. Intense, radiant, glorious, Julie is a treasure . The Julie Andrews Hour should be on dvd. And, oh yes, Glee is a perfect show for her to shine again on TV.

  • She'll rock the Glee house down. I bet Kristin Chenoweth bows down to her like the rest of us. :)

  • @scarredbanner is she going to be on glee?! if not she TOTALLY should!

  • @scarredbanner Is she going to be on Glee??? She totally should, I LOVE glee and i LOVE julie. (:

  • @dolphinjjam Chris Colfer is begging to have her play his grandmother and she says she hopes they ask her!

  • She is just exquisite. Everything she does and ever has done is gold.

  • everything she sings looks beautiful

  • *melts*

  • It's this type of singing that makes me wonder what could have happened if the directors in Hollywood in the 1970's had been able to see past her Mary Poppins/Maria image, the roles she could have done, she had the talent to pull off grittier roles.

  • @DanVotchka She sure did and still have the talent for grittier roles, just watch "Duet for One". Julie got a bit of a bad rep in the late 60's because of a few less successful movies and almost exclusively worked with Blake for a while after that, concentrated on their family/kids and made some tv specials - whether it was because of "typecasting" (no role offers) or by own choice is up for debate.

But even todays directors only see her as the nanny / grandmother / queen, so...

  • @RoseLippedMaiden she was incredible in "Duet for One", It really makes one realise how pigeon-holed she's been as that performance seems to have gone completely unnoticed, she must have gotten so frustrated sometimes. Darling Lili's one of my favourite performance's of the "other side of Julie" lol, I still insist she did the best strip tease in screen history.

  • @DanVotchka couldn't agree more!

  • @RoseLippedMaiden - Duet for One was terrific.

  • @DanVotchka exactly! I don't understand why everyone was giving her hell about wanting to do her job, which is being an actress. Whats so wrong with wanting to do other serious roles? Its part of growing as an actress. I hate that people still view her as a "nanny" today, its not fair to her because all she wants to do is be a performer, and actress. I really admire her for not letting what other people thought of her get in her way. She is a brilliant, talented, beautiful actress all the way(:

  • She is amazing. Gotta love her even more if that's possible. Perfect and powerful performance as always.

  • I know, just when you think you can't love her anymore then you already do, you see / hear something new and go Aww

  • I think this is the closest Julie Andrews ever came to belting. Really good.

  • More proof of how amazing this Dame really is. I love the Julia Andrews Hour and well let's face it I just love her!

I like how she has to stress the R in "are" because of her accent :)

  • i looove liza in cabaret but but if it wasnt her id want it to be julie.

    love it.

  • Gosh, I adore this dress, it has my fav color. I don't know why she was always mentioned as the "kind one". She was sexy too.

  • I LOVED all the really tight close ups they did on this show. Julie just makes you melt---and not just anybody's skin could take a camera that close. Her face is English peaches and cream for sure.

    Thanks for sharing!!!
