Undoubtedly the FBI will examine the hood for blood samples. It is highly unlikely that Z could've stabbed his victims 16 times without a single drop of blood getting on the costume. Even if he washed it, there should still be trace samples.

just watched Aphrodite jones episode on the zodiac, and they had a handwriting analyst check the writing, she said its no doubt jack was the zodiac.

That hasn't been confirmed yet. The FBI considers him suspicious enough to test his DNA, prints, handwriting, knives and the hood.
