  • I can't believe people accept this behaviour from their dog... And actually encourage it by stroking the dog when he's growling and showing its teeth

  • @themanitasdeplomo The dog isnt doing any harm, so what is the problem?

  • Mine also does this !!! If he has his toy he will growl but he is only playing they are actually very loving dogs

  • Gotta love the Jacks. Nothing else like them. They're not always good dogs, but they are always great dogs.

  • toffy is soooo cute he sounds just like my jrt jack when you just look at him when hi is on the bed he thinks he rules the house he growls when i try to get on the bed with him snd when i try to move him off the seat in the car lolololollolololol!!!!!!!

  • I have 2 JRT and they LOVE bedtime. My one jack knows my nightly routine and she watches to see what i am doing, she follows me everywhere i go. Her sister just lays in her bed waiting.

  • my JRT does the exact same thing, my son made a commercial called "Stuffed Crust Terrier Ears" its supposed to be like stuffed crust pizza. When he says it to her, she growls just like that.

  • He looks angry at 1:28

  • So cute! ^^

  • A lot of Jack Russels do this

  • @Gandalfgrey93 What the hell is wrong wif u, u retart

  • shut up jack ass

  • @katlovers123 no this other dude said that the dog shuld die i jst said dat to them

  • @kat1365

    Learn how to spell.

  • omg that is so cute!!!! i have a jack russell, and he's a growly lil turd too!! and whats super cute too is that the woman called the dog "velvet ears" i call my dog the same thing!!! love this video

  • Lucy does that when I tell her it's time to go nite-nite

  • Love the face at 0:36

  • It's probably the way he says 'Bed'.

  • jacks are very vocal. When I get home my jack greets me. if someone was listening they would think I was being attacked by a crazed animal. And that is after she bellies up to me for rubs. One should be careful of dogs growling, but for normal jacks I don't think is means the same thing that it means for other breeds. these dogs were built to scare the shit out of what they were "hunting" but not bite it; as that was considered unsportsmanlike like behavior. The word sexy make her growl too.

  • All Jr's have a little quirky weird thing... His is pretty funny!

  • My jrt growls too when he is bein cuddled or when I got to check him for cuts etc . He has never bitten me nor would he. It is just a JRT thing.

  • that is just pure terrier, my jack gets pissed off at me, its my fault when he bites me, but that is just part of the game we play. but at the end of the day we best buds for life!

  • I have to comment again cause I love this dog's reaction when you say Bed for the first time. It's like. Wait, what did you just say? haha

  • Haha a well known FACT, Jack Russells growl at anything but do sweet f all if they've been brought up nicely. My Jack Russell used to do this all the time and it was so funny cause it was all for fun, it was me and her thing. I used to say come on to her and she used to growl like she was going to rip your throat out then suddenly she came over and licked the hell out of me haha. I used to say she was all talk. She died in Feb of 3 TYPES OF CANCER! What are the odds. 1 couldn't bring her down!

  • at 0.39

dog oh shit man how the fuck am i supposed to trade in the share market with these fuckers on my tail !

i need god damn dog biscuits !!!!!!!

  • my dog does that when i say bath :)

  • Jennifer's hot! :)

  • Funny at first but then thought it was a bit cruel because he looked so nervous :-(

  • The reason he doesn't like going to bed is because his owners rape him.

  • I love my when my dog makes his growl face at me, its the cutest thing ever lol. He doesn't growl though, he just raises his lips to show his teeth when I blow his stomach :P

  • @nzo41x HAHA I DO THAT TO MINE TO! lol

  • I hope that dog bites the living shit out of you for tormenting it, but it was kind of funny

  • I love my terriers, but I know of one that could use a bullet to the back of his head. He's an elderly satanic piece of crap. I would not reward this aggression or initiate any struggle with a terrier. Be the boss!

  • We call that "cougering" Our Jack, Riley does this if we try and move him on our bed at night! They are just the silliest dogs!

  • they do it because of their strong hunting background everything is a game of some sort mine growls at everything he loves to fight over his bones and stuff he bites hard and really wants to bite harder can tell its just somthing programmed into them. if you walk them and theres a house with a cat he will never forget it. we had a mouse in the house while back it ran under the fridge the dog sat there 3 days waiting shivering like a nut job

  • Toffee doesn't like minorities

  • Anyone who doesn't get this video obviously doesn't know Jack squat about Jack Russells... This is what they do!

  • If you guys think that is scary watch my video evil teeth.

  • This is people using funny people stuff and teaching dog bad habits. I understand that people that love their dogs teach bad habits and don't recognize when they are doing it and this seems to be a video that shows one way in which it's done. I'd say the worst part is laughing and petting the dog while it is getting overly excited about the word "bed". I can understand playing a game like that but I'd have to put the dog down and let him know that I was going to be playing before enticing.

  • i hav a jacc russell to

  • Your missis made me laugh aswel.she knew it was sly winding up the dog but couldnt help herself.funny as fuck!!!

  • made me laugh but I wouldn't do it again much, I mean if you're doing it for a laugh whenever guests come round then it's going to fuck up his simple brain. He's your friend, repay his loyalty.

  • Grrrrrrr!!!

  • Satanic? His head didn't spin. He didn't spew any green vomit.

  • u need too train that animal otherwise it could be aggressive around children

  • it is trained! lmao

  • I guess Jack Russells growls always cause I have one, I always teas it to growl like that makes me laugh, but ever since he never bit at anyone, but he push people that he don't like, hes really funny.. My nephew always cries because he is always pushed by my dog, I but he don't bite. Thats why I like Jack Russells.. :D

  • hes obviously looking at something behind the camera. you can see him staring right at something.

  • why would he be looking at the camera...he's a dog

  • Well done sherlock

  • hot

  • Quickly, Judith-- Get me the holy water!!

  • hear*

  • I like how you can just here a murmur from the dog when the first say it.

  • Sounds like my JRT, Massimo, who likes to argue about anything and won't take no for an answer!

  • After a lifetime of owning spaniels, I picked a Parson Russell this time round - the ANGRIEST puppy I have ever owned! The growling is only the start of their eccentricity!

They Piss whilst doing a handstand, reverse into bushes when the going gets tough, and will bite your kids (or you) if liberties get taken. Don't EVER show it a small, furry mammal it'll get bit - Still, wouldn't swap my PRT for a large bag of gold!

  • in my most honest opinion, you must not be easy on your dog whenever he growls. you must be the pack leader and be assertive, but calm when it does it. go AH, AH ,AH. in a high corrective tone. you got to match its intensity or get even higher but in the animal world, the stronger survives. thus you got to show you are stronger by no means harming, and the pack leader.

  • So many fucktarded yankee fag comments! if you are american and your going to make a big speech because you think this is cruel then put a fucking gun to your head and blow your fucking brains out all over your house you fucking yankee thick cunt!

  • jimmyingCT !! Abolutely true!!! Mine , I tell him to go down and he starts growling and running in circles !!! i say " what's this??" and he shows his teeth !! I say "wanna fight??? " he barks like crazy !! JRT are the best dogs ever !! They are sooooo smart !!! Mine impress me each day even more !!! He s fucking crazy and I love it !!

  • you shouldn't positively reinforce the aggression... he may never attack you but another dog or human

  • You figure people searching for JRT moves might at least know a little about the breed although I guess anything posted on the internet is an invite.

Jack Russells are very strong willed pets. They growl often, its means nothing more than that they disagree. Mine will growl daily for the most absurd reasons such as if I dont let let it lick my feet.. These strong opinions are a small part of what makes these little guys so amusing.

    toffee has really nice markings.

  • A: Not likely. JRT are fiesty but not psycho.

B: If it does turn-- the dog only weighs 16 lbs at most---COME ON!

If it was an 80 lb Pit Bull, then I would worry.

  • Heh,, Small dogs take small parts.. I know someone who had the whole right side of their nostril removed by a JRT that was intemidated.

  • they say max 16 ??? hahaha mine is a bully !!! Pure one and he s 22 lbs and still needs to take some weight!!! And mine did turn against me.. bit me in the face ....meh!!! But he was jalous because it was the first time I had someone come over after I broke up ....hahaha I think he didn't liked the guy !! hahaha

  • JRTs FTW!

  • whats FTW stand for?

  • For the win.

  • Lol, JRT 's are the best, they are just too funny,

  • Il a du caractère ton chien.

Le mien il fait Hip Hop!!

  • My jackie does the same thing if you point at her

  • were not going to send you to BED! lol

  • same here, when i say "you wanna bath" then he growls

  • Encouraging bad behaviour... tut tut...

  • LOL the dog just started to growl after he heard the word "bed"

  • was he getting pissed because they wanted him to ''go to sleep''

  • i hope he bites you one day for teasing himm!!! :@

  • :)) mine's jrt is the same when i tell him get out of the bed

  • Poor dog. These people are reinforcing his negative behavior by telling him he's a good boy and petting him when he responds negatively. This is not funny and is the reason why dogs with high energy levels like JRT's develop negative outlets for thier energy.

  • beuty and the dog is not bad =)

  • LOL yea mine does the same thing when i ask him if he wants a smack

  • I've got one of these too...Only, it's HIS bed. He doesn't like the words bath, beat it, or wipe it's feet.

  • Haha my dog does this too. I can't tell if they're serious or not. With my JRT, we threaten to cut his nails :) . He gets angry right away. "We're going to cut your nails right?" GRRRRR!!!!

Of course afterwards we say we're joking, but when it gets to that day, he gets really scared. :P

  • Toffee is so cute!!! This makes me laugh so hard and we watch it a lot. We have a JRT with the same sassy attitude, he growls like this if you just give him a certian look. They are just sassy. No harm done!!!!! Love Toffee, he is so cute!!

  • congobeat do you own a JRT? They are 20 pounds of comedy gold. My older one does the same thing whenever we try to take away his bone. Yet, his tail is wagging the entire time, it's just a game to them. ;)

  • Aww...JRTs/PRT's love to be feisty. Toffee was having a laugh with you. He's a great dog!

  • I love this! He's so cute!

  • .. toffee's just a nightowl. that's all. he is soooooooo cute.

  • What a cutie!

  • sounds like he is just gurgling than growling. LOL.

  • My jack russell loves to go to the vet!

  • that's cruel - hope the rspca gets you

  • shut up. These people clearly love their dog, my jack russell does this when i just make kisses at him. The dog looks in good health, the people who should get done by the rspca are the one that really abuse dogs, or use them for fighting.

  • My JRT bitch does the same thing. And she looks a lot like Toffee. Must be a genetic thing.

  • aww nice dog he reminds me of my ol parsons (he got ran over last year *cries* ) anyway thats not nice on the dog and he is getting attention from bieng agressive

  • If I were Toffee, I would bite your balls off

  • I had a JR years ago and he hated the word "bath" he would run away and hide, he also howled to ONE particular tune and no other if I played it on the organ, It would also fetched socks out of my bedroom drawer when told.

  • hey hornetobiker! You're a liar AND english!

  • The guy is TORMENTING that poor dog. I don't see the humor in it. Sorry. I identify with the dog, and it reminds me of sadistic teasing by my older brother when I was a kid. MEAN! MEAN! MEAN!

  • Because you twat the dog is getting affection for showing aggression. Do you have a diploma in dog psychology? No you don't. So don't chat crap to me that you know nothing about.

  • Are you ignorant of the reply button? Or are you trying to avoid an answer? I'll answer you anyway. I have a masters in Human Psychology and have been a researcher for over 20 years. I specialise in NVC.

As dog communication is 90 Non-verbal and I have had dogs in my life for about a million years I do consider myself qualified to comment. Are YOU in any way qualified to pass judgement on this issue? Please reply through the "reply" facility. That's what it's for you know.

  • my dog goes batshit when I show him my tongue

he's a schnauzer-pudle mix and is quite aggressive towards other dogs, cats etc. but loves humans

  • Are you mentally ill or mentally handicapped? How is this teaching or encouraging a dog to attack people??

  • Russells can be VERY fierce and can attack.

  • These dogs are so smart -- he probably knows that he's being an entertainer by growling like that. My JRT doesn't do the same trick, but he knows when he's getting laughs, because he'll keep going with whatever crazy activity he's doing!!

    Love him!

  • I have a JRT and know first hand that you do NOT want to be holding them when they get pissed like that

  • Rubbish mate. One of mine growls like that all the time...when he's playing!

  • Yeah dogs do growl when they play. But that is'nt messing about.

  • Yeah it is! They're not robots mate, they each express themselves differently. Check out the rest of his body language. I've got two (from the same litter) and they are polar opposites in every way.

  • Cesar Millan would spank you for nurturing that (the growling) behaviour through petting it when it's pissed off.

  • that look on Toffee's 'face' at 0:13...priceless ;-)

  • LOL!! :D

  • ststst-studering

  • lololololololol *the dog is hi-larious* check out my vid 4 more hi-larious doggie action

  • What a smart and adorable dog!

  • lolz, when i had my jack he was funy about certain things too. i think they are the best kind of dogs, f-kin whitty too

  • My Jack is like that when she's in OUR bed!

if you move your legs, she will growl and try to bite them.

  • My dog gets like that when she has to have a bath!

  • That is so funny ... I just love jack russells!

  • my dog used to shiver and started running around trying to hide whenever i said the word 'bath'.

  • you shouldnt encourage negative behaviour in such dogs. thats your dog believing he's alpha over you! saying "good boy" when he's growling like that will encourage this. and it isnt a "cute" or a laughing matter when he growls like that. especially when he's being picked up as well!!! the narrator of this vid is at the bottom of the chain of commmand in that household!

  • just like my wife!! lol

  • That's hardly abuse. The dog is just letting them know he really doesn't want to go to bed yet. My son''s Jack Russell, Maggie, will growl at you like that if you move her around the bed when she wants to stay in that spot. It's just a colorful expression of her wishes. She also growls like that when tugging on a toy, and it is just play, not realy viciousness. He's cute! thanks for sharing.

  • I just adopted one today and it growls every time I pet him and hes like this dog when he growls

    its scary

  • That's funny, my Jack Russell only wants to go to bed

  • jack russels are naturally noisy dogs

  • wow that jack russell looked and sounded just like mine

  • Stop teasing the bloody dog I hope it turns on you and rips you to bits.Morons

  • tats a funny dog but my dog dunt growl like tat lol

  • thats not satanic .... my jack russel was going crazy when i showed him this video

  • aww dont tease it lol but that is nothing compared to how chihauhas growl they are horiible jack russels are cool!!

  • I love your accents.

  • It's funny till he bites your face off! LOL. My Jack has weird reasons for growling. He las down and rolls over because he wants you to scratch his belly and if you scratch him to fast or on his sides he goes ape shit. I'm takin growling, biting, flashing teeth. Psycho.

  • ello toffee top of the morning cherrio and all that! You would love my bella she looks quite a bit like you she can get a temper if you push her

  • our JRT, "Katie", does the EXACT same thing when asked if she wants to "go night night"...its amazing how similar JRTs are. Very funny.

  • my jack is so lovely playful and friendly.. when i saw this dog, got a bit scared..

  • my jackrussel is a fucking sico manaic

u just touch him he will bit u his name ns jack now jackychan

  • i have two jack, and one of them doing this.

  • My JRT is like this about Feet.

She does not like them near her.

    They are crazy fun dogs.

    I love them!!!

  • yeah my dogs crazy sounding too and his voice is really low...when he initially growls

    a lot scarrier than this!

  • Cute dog.I have 2 Jrt mixes & the oldest does this for bath & if you make a kissing sound if give him kisses.Mine does more of a grumble talking type groan.

To some of the people commenting there is a big difference between when mine growls for real & does this. Its the way he communicates dislikes he is a talker & non agressive.

He does the same for the puppy when correcting her & if he means business its different and she knows it.

  • My Jack Russell does this when she's around alot of people.

  • People chill out. She's not hurting the dog. Jack Russell Terrors (lol) are usually bad tempered. I have one, and just walking around the house she will nip at me body slam me.

  • you're just "psycho" humans who cause stress to this dog.

i think it's better that you stop molesting this dog and you two go to BED.. sex is more funny!

  • hahahah whenever you say "Shower" to my dog he runs away lol or hides under the covers of a bed, or under the bed itself :P

  • "Put the dog down" means kill it! are you aware?

  • Reminds me of my JRT, Nico!!

A pain-in-the-backside, but i wouldn't trade him for all the gold!! He just makes me laugh all the time!!

  • AH! Its so fun ghouling dogs, then give them a big glomp after. Your dog is very sweet. My new JRT thinks that my face is a chew toy, its just that her teeth are growing in. I gave her about 4 toys to chew on but she still likes my ears and fingers.

  • I have 2 jacks a 5 month old a 3 year old. My three year old Molly does the exzact same thing when you say Robber. She has a stuffed robber and beats it up all the time and when ever you mention Robber or ask, "Molly where is the robber?" she growls. Its not neurotic its a VERY intelligent dog voicing likes and dislikes. SHes barks and jumps whenever you hold a ball, same thing just different reactions.

  • To all you wacko nuerosis ridden "expert" commentors who think that this is some cruel or weird exercise...

Toffee is a gentle and sweet dog. He is ecstatic about going for walks, he flips out when given a new toy and he does not like going to bed, he is simply vocalizing his likes and dislikes - that is all. He is cared for very much and loves his life and his family. We are big dog lovers and have had many dogs - Toffee is one of the most human we have ever had the pleasure of being around.

  • This dog is like a lighter coloured version of my JRT. Your dog's reaction to the word "bed" is hilarious.

  • what he said

  • "You would kick them across the house", and how would you describe that behavior? They are doing nothing wrong in this video. it is funny, why? Because the dog obviously doesn't like to go to bed, thus making it funny.

  • All dogs can't be perfect and everydog has their flaws. I don't think I would kick them across the house :/ Now that seems a little sick.

  • I don't think it's fair to assume it's animal abuse because he acts different to what you're used to. Every dog is different and most owners have a good feel for their own dogs. I love "teasing" my JRT, producing the same reaction. But I know he's not upset because he wags his tail and shows other signs that he's happy (while growling). I wouldn't be surprised if Toffee was wagging his tail as well. JRTs seem to thrive on that sort of game. I know mine does!

    Adorable JRT! Thanks for sharing!

  • cute dog, but my jack russell would tear that wimpy dog to shreads!!

  • The dog is having fun with you! Anyone who can't see that is an idiot!

  • All I have to say is any of these idiots saying you're JRT's going to be aggressive, nuts, etc... You're idiots. Mine does the same thing and he's the nicest dog in the world--In the world. And he's got a more fierce growl than yours. I love him to death & look out squirrels

  • harassment of these dogs causes their aggression to get out of control...eventually with their hyper drive mentalities, if not duly exercised and kept within strict boundaries, they are prone to neurosis and succumb to overtly aggressive behavior regardless of who provokes them or how old. You want to be able to trust your pet in all circumstances. This activity does not instill trust in this poor dog, but makes you wonder how long till it snaps. GOOD LUCK WHEN IT DOES

  • I know! My friend had a Jack Russell that snapped and ran over a bunch of little kids in an Abrahams Tank!!

  • i love toffee,,, my parsons is js the same - so cheeky!

  • LOL!

  • youre mean!!!!

  • I have Jacks, lots of them but I don't wind them up and encourage them to be grumpy.

Stupid owners getting in the dogs face and winding him up! Praising him for being growly too! What is wrong with these people.

  • Dude, I don't know how much you actually know about your dogs but this is not necessarily aggressive behavior. The dog considers it a form of playing, and as long as he doesn't bite there's nothing wrong with such behavior.

  • 'less intelligent dogs'? Jack Russells? You must be having a laugh. Just because a dog won't bow down to silly pointless commands like a collie, doesn't make them stupid. Besides, there are many examples of clever jacks which you can see here on youtube such as the counting dog, the agility course dog and the frisbee dog.

  • Two big indicators of intelligence in dogs:

    1) More protective of property and pack members (a pack instinct inherited from wolves, which are the most intelligent canines found in nature) than property; border collies are closely related to wolves (similar build+behavior), which is one obvious indicator for their high intelligence relative to other dogs. When Border Collies obey commands, they are doing so out of loyalty/submission to the "Alpha Male"; Jack Russells do it for treats and toys.

  • 2) Boredom: Jack Russells are more easily entertained than Border Collies. I've worked with a friend's Jack Russell from puppyhood as well as two Border Collies of my own, and I can tell you that while the Jack Russell liked to run away more (which I count against his intellect), the border collies were much more ornery and frequently found new, innovative ways to cause trouble if they weren't being played with...

  • When our current border collie wants to play ball, but--for example--I am doing the dishes, she will pick up a tennis ball and stick it in between my legs.

She also throws her own frickin' bone.

  • MY JAck Russell throws her own balls too, can say "Out" when she wants outside and can say "home" when she wants to go home....We never taught her to do any of that either she just mimicked the words we say a
