I really wish they would rework some of their stuff from Gauze. Cage would definitely be pretty crazy to hear if made into a heavier version. I think that Kyo's singing voice is a lot better than it was back then. Not growling but singing. His growling has definitely become a lot better though as well. imo of course.
I've accepted the fact that diru has moved on from VK to this shit (personal opinion, sry guys !) and ok- maybe a band has to move on and evolve someday.
BUT THE THING THAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF AND WHAT I CONCIDER VERY MUCH UNFORGIVABLE, IS THE FACT THAT THEY RAPE THEIR OLD CLASSICS AND PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIKE THAT?!?!
@ItsDJJummi If this truly bothers you, why are you investing time and energy into complaining about it when you could instead go about your way and listen to the old records? Yes, you're entitled to your opinion; however, if you're going to make harsh criticisms like that, you should expect to get a lot of negative feedback. This is a video dedicated to Dir En Grey's new sound, not somewhere where you can openly insult the band. Thank you.
@Riobravotruckstop Yes, I could do that; you're right about that. And yes, this video is dedicated to dir en grey's new music, true.
But my point was, as you surely understood, that if they want to make new versions of their old song, my opinion is that at least they should show some respect for them too.
Tsumi to batsu is a very good point- it doesn't even resemble that it's the same song, just drum-smashing, guitar-whining and bad growling.
And the negative feedback? Don't care, point made.
@ItsDJJummi So what you're saying is that remaking a song that pertains to the band's current sound for sake of nostalgia is disrespectful? To be honest, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense being that the band wrote this song and would obviously respect their work. Yes, their new composition of the song may not be exactly like before and you may not agree with it; however, if you wish to dwell in the past and listen to the bygone Dir En Grey, be my guest.
@Riobravotruckstop No, it's not disrespectful. Maybe I used wrong words with the 'doesn't respect'.
In any way, they have made a lot of good songs and now they are making some of them sound bad (as far as I'm concerned) by... respecting their old work.
Yes, you're right about the fact that a band has all the right to evolve and do whatever with their songs they like- new or old. Still, that surely doesn't mean that everyone appreciates the outcome.
@ItsDJJummi you seem to be the only one apposed to this......so then i can come up with a rating of how many of those who dont "appreciate the outcome" are,, lets see how about 0.5 out of 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000? sounds good or did i forget a few zeros..
@LonelyDream666 Look, like I already said before (read the PREVIOUS comments, apparently you have NOT), you can like this all you want.
Me? Well, like Riobravotruckstop said; I prefer to dwell in the past with the good'ol music that USED TO sound good. You can hate it as much as you like, but that's how it is.
And if you still have something to complain about my taste of music, keep it to yourself. All complains from now on will be left unnoticed. C'ya.
@limaktba I'm aware of the fact. And many bands who does a remake from one of their songs, they usually have something in common with the old version.
For example, you can ACTUALLY recognize that it's the same song, even if it's a bit different- unlike most of diru's newly recorded versions.
And they usually sound good too- unlike... well, I guess it's an opinion-thing. But anyway. They have, like I said, all the right to do anything with their songs- but everyone does not have to like them.
@ItsDJJummi WOW that was not even a valid opinion.... you can at least be grateful they created the "old music you like" and not hate on the "new" music but come on really its common sense that bands who "evolve" have a shitty outcome but dir en grey pfft lets just say they created the sound that "western metal/death/idgafbands couldn't achieve..why? becuase they are music...but even so i can agree without a doubt that i love the old songs better then the remakes...
@ItsDJJummi and besides...only a fan can understand and support them all the way like i and many others have..so fuck off and learn that they couldnt stay kids forever...life is all about change/progressing/evolving/growing up
@ItsDJJummi Rape isn't a word you should use so trivially. Also, let me say this: I've been a fan of Dir en Grey since the very beginning. I listened to them in their VK days, and I love them as much --if not more-- now. Bands change. They evolve. You sound like one of the whiny fangirls that can't get over the fact that they don't prance around in dresses and makeup anymore, keeping to that same sound .
Bands that stagnate fail. They shouldn't have to stagnate to please you.
@MoonlitLagoon Look if you actually would have read the other comments, you would have noticed that I already explained myself- clearly.
You can like it as much as you want- that doesn't mean everyone has to like it. And if you think that I am a whiny fangirl (although I'm a 'he') just because of the fact that I hate the new sound (notice the word 'hate') and prefer the old sound to the new, then I guess that I am.
And also, I already mentioned that they can evolve if they want- their choise.
@arikoyamato this one might be in the uroboros remastered XD you should get the live at nippon budokan if you don't have it. It comes with a dvd of the live and with a cd. sounds just as awesome live.

@ItsDJJummi a lot of bands, in various genres, rework their own songs. it's normal. i'm sure they play them differently at each concert too.
