In the wild, we can't control what they do, but at least while they are in captivity we can help prevent such a traumatic death. You have a emotional connection to your pet, who is to say that other animals don't deserve the same courtesy?

as much as I hate it, i get why you feed your pet what they would naturally eat. from a biological sense, it's the right thing to do. Snakes as big as these cannot feed on mice since they need more food than that. This is one of the only things it can eat, and since these rabbits are bred for food, they are left with these. The snake needs food, so it's all it's got.
