When people actually look at it, the Gundam series has never been perfect, though I still love it. A lot of the things people complain about in Wing, Seed, 00... They're present in the originals as well, unless you use your "nostalgia glasses". Amuro had a lot of problems, in fact some of the same you see in the new ones. By your standards, he too gives gundam a bad name.
