He used to call ALL state cities that raid Troy Danaoi, Argioi or Acheoi... if you read which cities were and where were you will see unfortunately that are spread through all what today you call Greece :)

@papcyrill Don't worry, my country is highly educated, in fact, one of the most in the world. It's not difficult to know it was invented in Athens but to say an ancient Athenian is the same as a modern one is a bit of a stretch. It's not really correct to say "we invented it" when the things you share with Ancient Greeks are land and a derived language.. I'm pretty sure after all the invasions, interbreeding, and thousands of years you are no direct ancestor of the founder of democracy.

@polor89 The Byzantine Empire was ancient by the medieval age and completely stagnant, if it was rapidly growing and flourishing it would now have lost the old Eastern Roman Empire to a bunch of barbarians. Greece has not done anything since the imperial age of Rome.

Italy revolutionised art inventing perspective. Greeks have done nothing comparable in recent history. And Americans got to the moon, put a pc in every home, revolutionised the internet, mobile technology etc...

Stop fooling yourselfs. People in ancient Greece were the only ones that had democracy simply because every citizen was WELL INFORMED AND RESPONSIBLE. Nowadays people in every country are brainwahed and this so called democracy is infact a corporatocracy.
