I often watch the American Animal police and I'm shocked how many horses are being abused in the US. Only in Houston 7000 a year!! Here it makes the newspaper when 20 abused ponies are found.

This is what the BLM has caused to happen. Mustangs should have been running free, but cattlemen want the public land that WE own for their steers. It's all about money - fire Ken Salazar.

You need to send a 'shout out' to Dr. Furman ,a vet from Alliance NE ,a Cattlemen Association member,for providing the 'crack' in the foundation for HSUS to gain control of the Nebraska's livestock industry.

He will come in handy when you finally tap into the cattle part of ranching by doing a media invasion of the 9 over 9 cattle ranch owned by Don and Vicky Frieburger in Morrill county.A fly over will show that their ranch makes the 3-Strike Ranch look like a lush green golf course.Go HSUS!!!

@RomeosRoyalEffort thats great, i'm still too young to buy a rescued horse and train it myself, from the begining, but i hope to, when im older have a big country ranch with a good amount of rescued horses that are used as riding horses.

Thank you, HSUS, HfH, Lifesavers and Front Range, and ALL the many, many volunteers to coordinate this incredible rescue! I've been following this story for a couple months, and am glad to see the many horses who have been adopted. These crazy hoarders have to be stopped!

People- In this economy--STOP breeding your horses- at least for a few years--stop the glut of horses everywhere- many horses end up in my own country (Canada) as food!

Thank God 220 mustangs came out alive. Some of the mustangs are old mares, one 36 years old!! very preg. all the mares even the 1 year old fillys are starved and very preg.50, stallions need gelding if they gain health. Medunas fault first. HOWEVER, The BLM gave meduna about 220 almost FREE-NO CHARGE OR 10 dollars. wild horses. So the BLM has a lot of BLAME. The BLM has problems as they inspected the ranch many times and passed the ranch. My God the guy never wormed or fed hay BLM!!

I got 2 of them--my vet is sponsoring care and training an adult gelding-beautiful black boy called Ozzy aka "Black Sabbath"

I wanted to help a young horse so I took in a little sorrel yearling with a white stripe & a sock named "Pickin' Wildflowers" & I call her Nebraska!

It's a shame they don't show a pic of the asshole responsible for this. He certainly manages to look healthy and well fed, with plenty of time to work out. Check out Three Strikes Ranch so you can see for yourselves. Do they offer the death penalty for animal abuse yet?

thank god for the HSUS! It's absolutely unbelievable that people could treat animals in this manner. Was the ranch abandoned, or was it just neglect? Are there going to be charges against those who did this?

This was a mustang 'sanctuary', but the person running it badly mismanaged it. He kept taking on new horses (as well as neglecting to geld the stallions) even though his "pastures" were overgrazed to the point of being dry dirt lots and didn't provide feed to compensate. Either he didn't raise enough money to feed them all, or he didn't use the money he raised to feed them.

I can't remember if charges are being file, but I bet they are.
