  • when I found out I could just push that brick in the cellar to get out of the "prison" I felt like I was born all over again

  • THIS is the most underrated video game of all time. A timeless classic with such a great soundtrack.

  • *sees hentai calendar* AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

  • The PC version is a better version, but goddamn this music!

  • THis is the best, most creative, most brilliant video game ever created.

  • one of the best game ever created!! and a very unique one!! :D

  • IBM PC version is much better than this

  • Where I can meet this and also the "Maniac Manson Delux" version this music????

  • Oh this music is like crack to me. I've loved it since I was but a small boy

  • i played this game when i was 12 years old and it took me a little while to get the hang of it.

  • God I love this game...

I'm still proud that I was the only kid I knew that ever beat this game.

  • You know, this kinda programing had to take some love. Major props to the folks that did the coding for this awsome soundtrack

  • I always dreamed that the broken stairs in the back could be fixed. Remember the one in the very back room/library? I wonder where it went...

  • No Syd's theme = sacrilege

  • i love this game. i was always quite good at it, and the music is pure awesomeness!

  • I never made it very far in this game, but I remember it for it's good graphics and music

  • there is an 8-bit tear rolling down my cheek. classic

  • Dude this was mind blowing when I was 5... 20 years later it still is.

  • yes!!!

  • mamma che roccia

  • Wow, a lot of people worked on this soundtrack.

  • yea the point for me is i grew up with the c64 version and i like this the most til today cause in the other versions they did a lot of cencored thinks. And they did another color for the faxes i dont realy know why also on pc

  • If you were fast enough you could get out of jail by yourself :D tough a heck to do but i have done it

  • The music in this game as well as the graphics made the NES port much better than any of the computer versions. This is the only NES game I didn't get rid of.

  • omg yes this is awesome

  • razor, sid, michael and the piano jam are my personal faves... the Edisons' theme was cool, but damn it got annoying

  • the first song is fire

  • Is this on the VC? If not, it sure should be.

  • LOVELOVE Bernard and Razor's music SO much.

I was totally bummed with the Deluxe version being so similar to Day Of the Tentacle...wtf....

  • Dave, Bernard, and Michael for the best tunes in the game.

  • Don't forget, this isn't the original version. I originally played this thru on the Commodore 64 in 1987.

  • Indeed. The theme is different here. It's like a remix.

  • Totally played this game forever when I was 8...still do, totally love it lol

  • i absolutley love this damn game!:D

  • NO NO NEVER NEVER WELL MAYBE SURE OK

  • Razor's is the best!!

  • FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME!!!!

  • Best Video Game Ever

  • Could the guys really not get away from the chick at the fridge. When she says I got you I'd have punched her lights out

  • best video game music ever

  • Have played almost ever version of this game. The Commodore 64's version had the best sound track of them all. The addition of character specific songs on the NES version was a plus, though.

  • I LOVE THIS GAME.

I really wish someone would post a video of the Famicom version though.

  • Maniac Mansion rocks!

    This game is so crazy!

But that's why I love it so much!

  • Is it just me or is there more characters than normal?

Dude you're supposed to RUN AWAY when you see the blue lady!

  • gotta be my fav NES game, the music too is the best!

  • also I have the soundtrack to this game, and the Original Zelda. if anyone wants it, send me a message!

  • A wonderful classic from LucasArts. Someone made a remake of the game, MM Deluxe, but my beef with it is that it doesn't use the character's music, but instead uses music from Day of the Tentacle for rooms in the game.

  • Michael's thme was the best - apart from the main theme.

  • Dave's my favorite, it just rocks. Bernard's is good, too, a mellow beat while you try to fix that damn circuit breaker!

  • Epic game, not many games were so original and mental

  • Alien person is amusing.

  • this game used to freak me out when i was little and you saw the bad guy in the kitchen

  • I like Micheal's theme the best!

  • i agree! i want to hear a funk band cover his theme.

  • The video footage here is (half of) a Maniac Mansion speedrun that I did 4 years ago. It's ok that you used it, but you should acknowledge who made it and where you got it from.

  • I thought I did, if you check the description. I was under the impression that user had done the run, but if you're sure it's yours, I suggest you take it up with him. In the meantime, I can change the credit to something else, just let me know if your Youtube account is fine. Sorry about the mixup, as I always try to give props where they are due.

  • Great game, and great music too.

I liked the NES version because of the music. Even knowing that Nintendo censored it (The NES version, not the music ;) )

  • I want back those days where NES had the best graphics =/ where a game was short but fun to play..

  • should propably mention that maniac mansion is also available on the ibm pc, the c64 and the apple ][.

  • True, but the music in this video is from the NES version, and usually I keep my descriptions specific to the version featured.

  • ...and Amiga and Atari and...

  • I have recorded all the music from the NES one and have it all in MP3s :) so if anybody wants some songs from the game hit me up.

  • Thanks! \o/

I´d love to hear the whole OST. I´m gonna search it in emule or somewhere.

  • Dave theme is awesome

  • Best.

    Game.

    Ever.

  • If you get a chance you should listen to the soundtrack for this game from the Commodore 64. Same songs, but the C64 SID chip was capable of sooooo much more than the NES sound card. Still a great soundtrack, but the C64 version will always hold a much closer place in my heart than the NES one :)

  • Although I haven't played the C64 version, I'm not surprised that it sports better renditions. Oh well, I went with the release that I thought would be familiar with most, although for a game like this one it's hard to tell.

  • The Nintendo version was probably the way to go. While it's music wasn't as crisp as the C64's, it had about 17 more songs in it's playlist.

When the Commodore version played music, it was badass. Sadly, 90% of the time you were listening to crickets, clocks, footsteps, and other ambient noise.

Either way, it was a phenomenal game :)

  • mannn..just get to the pool..haha nice vid yo.

  • Thank you :)

  • Not a problem, making the vid brought back a lot of good memories.
