at this point it only had a SRI in it. right now it has exhaust, intake, pulley, headers, and aftermarket spark plugs

my friend had a 08 lancer GTS. i can get him on a 25 roll,40 roll and off the dig. he has magnaflow exhaust, short ram air intake. he has nothing on my 04 mazda6i! i have magnaflow exhaust, K&N high air flow filter.

economy my ass...those shits burn gas. just cause the manufactures say shit like 18 22 highway, dont mean thats what you get. thats if you shift at lowest rpms and drive steady.

but if your racing or accelerate to much, your average mpg will be like 15 or something.

18-22??? Uhhh, ... In my 2008 Lancer GTS (w/CVT), I get 31MPG HWY (@65mph) and between 23-25 CITY. Of course, ... this is with no modifications at all. (I haven't done any..))

No, .... no it's not.. I purchased a 2008 Lancer GTS on April 20th 2007 (only weeks after they're release.) I now have just over 29K Miles on it, and I have kept a close eye on my mileage ever since it's purchase.. Might be one this for some kiddie to come in and claim their mileage when they've "just got" a new car, ... buy one year and 29K miles provides pretty accurate mileage detail. Again, ... I get 31MPG highway and 23-25MPG in the city. These new EPA guidelines are more strict.

lol my 4cyl te magna gets as low as 6.7 - 6.8L / 100kms and its a 2.4L - apparantly the 3rd generation magna shape is extremely aerodynamic plus its on superlows :)

but i would love an '08 vrx lancer cvt with a turbo :D that would be my 'awesome' daily driver

No need for a search. We know that the CVT is faster in theory. But in practice it's slower and its proven to be slower comparing 0-60 times of 08 Lancers with 5-speed and cvt.

And the CVT cannot take a lot of power, unless somebody puts a big turbo and proves me wrong.

Manual's are better then CVT's for at least one reason. They're funner. They're also usually quicker.

my 04 ralliart seems to be quite fastwr than the 08. I am surprised that 10-15 hp are such a big issue especially in acceleration after 50 mph. Anyway it is a nice looking car for a first time from mitsu!!!

Very true. It handles quite nicely but it doesn't have the kick that a Mazda3 does. After test driving both of them today, I've learned that the 3 is much more fun to drive as well. The lancer does look quite nice though. I'll be getting the 3.

Its got a good/tight turning circle, responsive steering, and good brakes, although, at least with the ES model, it feels a bit light/unstable in the back at higher speeds, so it's definitely not a "sporty" car, but for the money, it's a great buy. My only real gripe is that I wish they had tuned the exhaust a bit more, as it sounds a little harsh/annoying, especially with CVT, since the RPM remains fairly steady during accel. Overal, not bad for a Dodge Caliber cousin (same platform).

My daily driver is a fairly modded 350HP suby, and I bought the CVT/ES Model for my wife about 2 months ago. I think the computer has been configured for comfort as it's sluggish off the line, and I can't for the life of me get it to chirp the tires. But, it's a pleasure to drive around town, and definately isn't sluggish after 20mph - it's got enough acceleration to keep me happy.

well i know the CVT comes with a sport mode which has set gear ratios and is a 6 speed. Also the shift time on the CVT is instantainious, and with the GTS you get the paddle shifers too.

Alot of people say the 08 Lancer is underpowered. But dude this seems to be powerful enough!! Who needs to hit 100 in less than 6 seconds??? Im in Australia and dying for the GTS to come out here in late September. Gettin the sound and tech packages too :D

How does the CVT handle? Im an avid manual "analogue" driver but would consider the upgrade to "auto" if it were sporty enough. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
