Apparently you missed out on Ehrgeiz back in 1997. Actually... you didn't miss much. The game was a piece of crap and the only draw were the handful of FF7 characters you could play as.

No Sephiroth uses his Masamune, which is a famous japanese Nodachi. A two-handed sword normally 5-6 feet long with a foot or so handle. Sephiroth is Left-handed and in AC they decided to show fans how strong he could/really be(to the ff7 universe)by showing he could(if wanted) weild his massive blade with only one arm, as in the games he mainly used both-arms.
