Good video. I've observed that many reborn Christens are looking for "something" to redeem themselves. The main problem is that a religeous persons brain has been tricked into believing its going to survive for all eternity when in fact its 100% doomed to die. The association of God with drugs is quite accurate. Most drugs affect the release of dopamine in your brain which is the chemical your brain uses in its "reward system." Drugs are a way to release a large amount quickly. Whereas religeon is a more consistent method of regular release to satisfy your brains innate design for survival.

I don't think that belief in God or religion directly correlates to violence and delusion. But I do think that religion (not so much a belief in a vague God which is what I have) can lead to intolerance and violence, not because of the principles of the religion or anything like that, but beacuse our society is so sick that anyting, good or bad, can lead to bad.

Not everyone believes in gods. I believe in no gods and only ask those that do to provide demonstrable evidence that their belief is correct.
It has been shown by neuroscience experiment that certain areas of the brain go into overdrive when people have a 'religious experience' or other similar state of mind. This can even be demonstrated by magnetic neural interference that induces euphoria and loss of perceptual rationale in those exposed to it. It's all literally in their heads.
I've observed people in the thrall of religious exaltation, and I've seen people on some serious drugs--the distant look in their eyes, the hallucinogenic aspects, the reduced reasoning capacity, and most of all the euphoria--are strikingly similar. I have to wonder if the same neurochemicals come into play in the brain. Both those who are drug-addled and those who are religion-addled are capable of horrible acts, but only the religious continue to believe they are perfectly moral.
@DandAinTac The same chemicals ARE, in fact, triggered in both things. Though the Euphoria-instilling chemicals are processed faster with religion, others stay in the body longer. Crack addicts dont think they have an addiction, but the chemicals that aid in that feeling are actually higher in many extremely religious people.

The thing we need to consider is the difference between believing in the existence of a higher, uncomprehensable power (god) and religion, which is human interpretation of the unexplainable. As science and people evolve, naturally religion will follow. And as long as people take ownership of their perceptions of the unknown as a vehicle of hatred videos like these will remain relevant. I had a friend who did not believe in heavin or hell until death was in the face then things started to change and a high rate of speed because the soul knew it was moving on and that its destiny whas heaven or hell he went through great fear not knowing what would hapen to him. One mistaken image in your video is that of the Yin & Yang which derives from Taoism which is actually NOT a religion NOR DOES it perscribe to any God. I see the point of your video, and agree that fanatacism isb a problem in many religions. The association of God with drugs is quite accurate. Most drugs affect the release of dopamine in your brain which is the chemical your brain uses in its "reward system." Drugs are a way to release a large amount quickly. Whereas religeon is a more consistent method of regular release to satisfy your brains innate design for survival.

I don't think that belief in God or religion directly correlates to violence and delusion. But I do think that religion (not so much a belief in a vague God which is what I have) can lead to intolerance and violence, not because of the principles of the religion or anything like that, but beacuse our society is so sick that anyting, good or bad, can lead to bad.

I've observed people in the thrall of religious exaltation, and I've seen people on some serious drugs--the distant look in their eyes, the hallucinogenic aspects, the reduced reasoning capacity, and most of all the euphoria--are strikingly similar. I have to wonder if the same neurochemicals come into play in the brain. Both those who are drug-addled and those who are religion-addled are capable of horrible acts, but only the religious continue to believe they are perfectly moral.

@DandAinTac The same chemicals ARE, in fact, triggered in both things. Though the Euphoria-instilling chemicals are processed faster with religion, others stay in the body longer. Crack addicts dont think they have an addiction, but the chemicals that aid in that feeling are actually higher in many extremely religious people.

If you wanted to get into the specifics, then it isn't that difficult to scientifically perceive what is either, particular chemicals in the brain can cause those feelings.

@joseph82069 Ad nauseam fallacy: No matter how many times you repeat it, the universe isn't proof of anything other than that there is one. Any claim such as "God did it" first requires you to prove such a being exists: Otherwise, the basic premises behind that claim are fallacious.
I'm an adult: I don't need your validation or your judgement. I was expecting, though, something that looks like an argument for god but it seems indoctrination fallout and evasion is all you can produce.

You have no idea whether I'm good or not: You don't know me. So instead of judging others (as most christians often do), try to judge yourself and, most importantly, try to come up for a good, sound and logical reason to believe in your god.

Why is there love? Why is there order? Why are things so complex, ie a cell. or DNA? And how could that evolve? Why are we just the right distance from the sun?

The God who took on flesh to take the punishment you deserve so you could have forgiveness, eternal life anf true life, the God who is longsuffering and not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance, the God that allows you to breathe His air so you can turn around and mock and blaspheme Him.
