Stratosphere Tower Incident

I've been 4 times. On the first night we always eat at the Top of theTower restaurant. Revolves once per hour. And always do the rides the first night. THIS year they added the jump off the side to the ground. That was AWESOME.

but the whole time you're eating you see helicopters flying around and around and around 3 4 5 at a time and then up and down the strip

it's $75 I think for the ride. But its nothing to see a LOT of helicopters flying around the tower

omg! when i was up there waiting to get on the X Scream i was asking if anything ever went wrong with it and she said she heard once while it was going down it got stuck and the people were sitting there for hours...

Ye. A power cut in Vegas. I went on all those rides but would not have liked to have been up there then!

I Saw it on the new. I live in Vegas and what had actually happened was that there was indeed a power cut for a short period of time, but the power eventually came on and the ride continued. No one was hurt except for a young girl who got a little traumatized and eventually went to the hospital and got treated. But everything went alright afterwards!

OMG, I saw that ride up close, it dangles you over the streets and spin you around. Imagine you get stuck up there for hours on end....looking down at the streets below and thinking that one false move and you go splat...

No, I was too chicken. I just stood there watching it dangle the people over the edge and spin them around. And the seat you are strapped to do not enclose you completely, I guess that is part of the thrill, but I just couldn't stomach it!

no...It has stopped in the middle of the ride...

Wow, those guys stuck on that ride must have had the time of their lives. Nothing better than having laughs with your friends 1000+ feet high in the sky, with a great view of the lit up Vegas at night time.

well knowing that the attractions aren't meant to hang over the edge for too long, and that you don't know what's happening, I'd say you would be scared up there. But it'd be hell of a great time :D

Yeah and it causes the all the lights to go out, real good answer. Plus it is impossible to base jump that tower. You're checked right when you get in for any weapons and of course parachutes.

no, vegas has a curfew for minors. anyone under 18 must be inside or with parents after 10:00. its posted on signs all over the vegas roads.

i looked it over and the law states "Children under 18 may not be out past 10 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends unless accompanied by an adult". if she was 18 then the 11 year old was aloud out with her cusin

i think those two girls that were stuck on the ride like...own half of the stratosphere now...idk. I was there over the summer and one of the security guys that used to work there told me about it. they took out the roller coaster though it pisses me off
