rmr = resting metabolic rate. It is the amount of calories your body needs to exist at it's exact weight without any movement, exercise etc.
And yes peta go far too far. Great idea but they go too far and it's annoying as they could do so much good.

Animals are just that: animals. They aren't capable of any higher cognative function, they just eat, sleep, and shit on your carpet. Killing an animal may seem cruel, but in reality they aren't even aware of what you're doing. But PETA personifies animals and take everything too far. They're morons.
