  • Yes yes it is all about the anime with you. Revoltech went with the novel artwork I think. I like it. Revoltechs tend to go with books and manga forms more than animated forms. I intend to hunt down this and it's magazine omake counterparts on amazon or something next time I'm in Japan

Are the 6mm Revolver Joints still tight on this one or is it from when the 6mm joint became too loose before they got updated?

  • I like your comparison, but isn't the accuracy more personal preferance? I think the revoltech looks better, myself.

  • @causticblood Well, technically speaking, there is a quantitative way to determine accuracy - by comparing it to the on-screen character and seeing how closely the figure resembles it. Usually, most collectors would want their figures to be more accurate. Figures are, after all, a physical, 3D representation of a 2D character.

  • I've had figured and nendoroids for a while, and I was actually looking for a comparison between Figmas and Revoltech since I've known about both for a while but never really knew the differences between the two, thanks for making them clearer. Picking up my first Figma soon, Homura Akemi :)

  • @MadcowDead Do you know that Christianity is correct? The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead. Jesus is coming again and the signs of the end times that were foretold in the Bible are coming to pass.

  • I am getting loads of figma for christmas

  • i would want to get the one that didn't require as much labor. Figma is better, yet, Revoltechs must have taken less work for the people who made it. sometimes you have to think about things like unfair pay, spending all day at a factory. I'm NOT saying that figma or revoltech do that, I'm saying some businesses do that.

  • Actar576295 hi i just found a Fraulein Revoltech 007FS Futami Ami THE IDOLM@STER and it cheap and i just wanted to know what you thought about getting it. thank you =3

    ( i don't own a Revoltech but i do have a figma)

  • So far I have one of each. My Figma is Haruhi (super director, from season 2) and my Fraulein Revoltech is Yuki also from season 2, with the witch outfit, guitar, sign and Shamisen though you can just take off the witch outfit and have her in normal uniform. As long as you take care of your Revoltech figures, then you won't break them. Figma breaks easily as my Haruhi figure's foot broke off but of course I superglued it back on and you can't tell the difference.

  • you must say that figma is more expensive too, yes figma in this review was superior but if you buy a figma doll and a revoltech doll you will see the diference in money, with the price of one figma doll you buy two revoltech, in the end it depends, i didnt see any big diferences in quality that would make me buy figma over revoltech, if i find a figma doll with good price i would buy of course but that doesnt mean that i would not buy revoltech anymore.

  • I'm glad you stop talking like this... Because the way you talk here gave me a headache believe it or not.

  • why are being saying actar is biased? anyone with half a brain can see figma is the superior figure.

  • Imagine if it was like toy story and all the figmas came to life, imagine how awesome it would be!

  • the accessories matter to me. I love to change my figure's poses all the time. I own a lot of Revoltech and will be getting mt first Figma very soon. Very nice review!

  • 4:46 LOL she='s pointing at panties!

  • i have yuki nagato form the revoltech sieries and im prrity satisfied with her hey shes my first anime girl figure

  • i envy you and your figma. T_T

  • I do like the look [coloring & articulation] of the figma Haruhi figure.

I have the Haruhi figma [summer version] and love it.

I will prob. go with the revoltech Yuki ''Evil Witch'' figure due to it's price point.

When it comes to figure reviews, yours are on the top of my list. Thanks

  • Actar! I just wanted to say I really enjoy your reviews! This really helped help me decide not to get that nagato Yuki revoltech ;3;. Also if you don't mind me asking, do you have a my figure collection?

  • Haruhi not harsh

  • Can you do a review on harsh suzumiya summer school outfit version?

  • cuidado con el muñeco de los chinos que son unos estafadores de mierda y hacen las cosas muy delicadas

  • Yea but its not like that on every revoltech

  • this review brought to you by Figma! Figma. The superior choice for weeaboos.

  • @opsimathics Actually, they are pretty much the superior choice for anyone who collects figures and appreciates quality, not just weeaboos.

  • @Actar576295 THE ILLUSION OF PANTS

  • @opsimathics Pardon my noobness, but what's a weeaboo?

  • @bishiewuvr It's a derogatory term used to refer to people who think that Japan, and anything deriving or associated with it, is superior to everything else. The term is often confused and improper usage of the term can lead one to call an Anime fan/Otaku a weeaboo.

A distinction must be made between liking/obsessed with and thinking that something is superior. Just because one likes something doesn't mean that one thinks it's better than something else.

  • @Actar576295 OIC. I would say I'm a weeaboo, but Americans make good stuff too (e.g., the Avatar cartoon; Samurai Jack), so probably not ^ ^;

  • where do you get your figures?

  • how high is the figma haruhi?

  • I like both. I own 8 Frauleins and 7 Figmas.

To me, Frauleins are good price-wise, while Figmas are good quality-wise.

  • I have to say though, the joints are well blended in on the Revoltech figure.

  • Revoltech seems more for kids, figma are more collector-y.

  • @IceTehHedgehog I pray to god this is a goddamn joke.

  • I WANT THAT WII GAME!

  • Holy moly, you must be stinking RICH to be able to afford ALL of these figures! I mean really dude, where do you work!? :O

  • are all figma stuff similar sized as revoltech, i have a revoltech collection and was thinking of getting figma? but i want my collection to be pretty similar scale wise.

  • Are you going to review the game??????

  • how much did the figma cost? cuz ive seen it for 200$??

  • definately the figma!!

  • Whoo for the figma sandwich bag! Pure win!

  • I've actually seen them compared side to side, The Figma had more accessories, a better stand, and better quality material, but it was ten dollars more. :3

Figma Lelouch vs. Revoltech Rin, so maybe it isn't a fair one.

  • 0:21 Probationary Contracts! :D

  • i have figma haruhi and fraulein revoltech bunny haruhi and i like figma haruhi better :) Bunny haruhi isn't bad, but it doesn't look too much like haruhi. Her "guitar playing" face makes haruhi look constipated :/

ANd how the heck does the revoltech fraulein stand work ?!

  • I want one!!!

  • Old topic but screw it. Revoltech are well... basically expensive garbage. While figmas are like possible statues and are really nice

  • i think figma

  • I love figmas, i only have 1 and her foot broke off..but she still seems okay. =3

Also how do you find out when the newst figures come out?, because you seem to get them as soon as they come out? :3

  • I like figma better. The first Revoltech i got broke near the sholder area.

I trust figma more, i dont feel like it'll snap whne i'm posing one.

  • Figmas ftw

  • Although what you said is true... but if you want to get the bunny version of Haruhi Suzumiya action figure... the only choice is to buy Revoltech because Figma doesn't have that version available. I got the bunny version of Haruhi and it is definitely better made then the school outfit version. IMHO, it is simple cute and I recommend the bunny costume version of Haruhi Suzumiya by Revoltech.

  • @aneldoarosemena:

if you got them off ebay you can't be certain if their bootlegs or real.

obviously you might of gotten a bootleg and they tend to be cheap versions of the original figma and not as sturdy.

  • are the revoltech parts interchangable with other revoltech figures?

like can i take the arms and legs off of a macross mech and stick them on haruhi?

the joints seem to be standard and i've seen replacement joints so i am assuming you can mix them up to a certain extent.

  • Figma is better than revoltech ^^

  • salute all OTAKU!!!!!!

  • Yeah, i have 12 figmas and they're all in good condition, obviously some of you have'nt been taking the best of care with them.

  • figma all the way ^^

  • I got the Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekodou DX Pack with the Haruhi figure and I really like her, The problem I have is the arms keep falling off and they will not move without coming off. Any help? I don't know how to pose her or replace her hands.

  • So if I was going to buy a Haruhi Suzumiya, I should get Figma, glad I aw this vid :D thanks!

P.s. YOUR ACCENT PWNS :D (in a good wayf course)

  • I think it's what you want to do with the figures that depends on which one is better. If you them to collect and display, then Figma. If you want to play with them (or anything else that could possibly really involve them breaking), then Fraulein Revoltech.

  • @ChibiCthulluWillRule Well, honestly, considering that both the Revoltech and Figma are practically priced the same, the Figmas would still be more worth it as they tend to be much more sturdy than the Revoltechs.

  • @Actar576295 omg i can tell you how to get the game to work!! what version wii do u have ??

  • @ChibiCthulluWillRule To me Fraulein Revoltech kind of remind me of Barbies, no offense.

  • @ChibiCthulluWillRule To me Fraulein Revoltech kind of remind me of Barbies, no offense. And you can't change out the faces in that type too. The shoes are different. The hand variety is cool. And the Fraulein is bigger/wider than a Figma. The colors are brighter and shinier while Figma is toned-down and more realistic.

  • GO ACTAR GO ACTAR!!

  • aburres!!!!! ya sabemos qe es una muñeca tmb sabemos qe se mueve... YA SABEMOS!

  • where did you get them

  • i like them both but i cant decide cause i like my figure to be chuncky while 2 of my figmas have broke wat a hard choice

  • @xymikemow Well, like actar says, it depends on what you want in your figure. For myself, I tend to buy figmas for character figures, and buy revoltechs for mechs. however, the newer lines of revoltechs are pretty nice. These being the queens blade line and the Sengoku Basara lines.

  • thats true...revoltech figmas are more sturdy but lack in aperence and its less acurate. thw figmas are a lot more fexible and alomost all of my figmas broke in some place but the revoltech ones are very robotic in its movements but i LOVE the figmas bcuz they are amazing and vary in many animes...figma FTW

  • @aneldoarosemena: no,you're wrong, revoltech are more sturdy than figmas who break way too easily, figmas are only better in the appearance, and in the pose, but you can't keep that appearance and pose if you break it!, it's a WASTE to buy figmas from eBay, trust me, my Nanoha broke her two hands and her ponytail balljoint quickly, and she was from ebay, revoltech are still better!!!

  • Okay... This is bizarre. I own 50 over figmas and all of them have been perfect so far. In contrast, most of the revoltechs I own have floppy joints that love popping off.

Be careful when you buy from eBay because there are a whole ton of bootleg/knockoff Figmas out there. That could explain your Nanoha's breakage.

  • I perosnally think they are matched.....figma is good in terms of accuracy and revoltech is good in terms of durability but wen it comes down to it....i would go with figma but wen it comes to this haruhi figure i would go with the revoltech just because the figma looks wierd and the revoltech looks alot cuter ^^

  • @Actar576295 The plastic are harder but brittle on the figma joints. the revoltech joints are softer (easier to get loose) but more pliable. My figmas have snapped at the shoulder, but none of my frauleins/revoltechs ever broke....they just get loose joints and fall apart (you can fix with crazy glue)

  • @Actar576295 Yep, although I know it was bootleg before purchase, the neck joint on my Kaga-Miku figma snapped 'cos of me trying to move it while it being immovable. Still need to get down to replacing it with a spare Revoltech joint. But otherwise, it's A'IGHT (kawaiiiii).

  • @Actar576295

    They really improved Frauleins a lot over the past couple of years. Hasegawa Haruka, for example, is very well made, everything is tight and nothing breaks at all. I just wish I could find the figures as easy as you can....since here in America, our figures are 95% crap....and all the Figmas and Revoltechs cost 2 or 3 times more. x_X;

  • @TheCastellan Can't say much about the Figmas, but the Revoltech I have didn't even cross the $20 line. I recently got a Yoko figure for about $15

  • @cforce64

    Where at? O_O

  • @TheCastellan Mostly on Amazon.com. Except for Yoko, which I bought during an overseas trip.

  • i say that revoltechs are better, they are more sturdy than figmas who break too easily!

  • this helped alot ~ 5/5

  • mine broke in da hand

  • Figma ftw...but I like revoltech sometimes.

  • i got the second one

  • Plus, the revoltech's skirt and collar are the wrong color.

They're supposed to be more turquoise.

I'm hopefully going to buy that Haruhi figma soon. n.n

  • awsome did u buy them all ?? i bouth one and it was £100 XD

  • I like figma moer than fräulein but bith are cool

  • you have so many figures o_________o??

  • i dont know why but i actualy like the revoltech more its brighter and more novelty and the figmas so bland just look at the uniform bleh can we make a new shade of blue and call it boring blue because this would be it

  • Fraulein aren't actually too bad.

  • I never said that they were bad, just not as good as Figmas.

  • I was saying that because I thought they were bad, but I bought Rei Ayanami bandaged version and it was pretty good.

  • Hey Actar... Lemme go to your house lemme take sum pics!XD Just jokin.

  • revoltech knee joints burn my eyes D*:

  • everybody knows figma is better than revoltech but fraulein are good too,but i have problem with my asuka and idol master figure because they arms and legs are very delicate in comparation with figma, the structue of the body of figma is much better than revoltech, anyway two ways are great

  • figmas are way easy to pose than revoltechs..while revoltechs are cuter (XD) but they're both good anyways,

  • i realy want this wii game should i get the dx pack to add another figure to my collection but then that would be more money, what should i do?

  • I do like Figma but the Yuki Frauilien figure had good articulation and was very close to the anime. Maybe the Haruhi wasn't that good because it's a freebie? Oh well figma is still quite good though.

  • in my dreams its a freebie, the dx box costs about 50$ more!

  • figma pwns.

    deffinentlly.

  • i like the figmas alot better..

    thats just my opinion

    ^_^

  • me too

  • My store only had the Revoltech Haruhi ones. Darn Canada. D: Still, I picked them up.

I find Revoltech Witch Yuki quite cute despite the Figmas usually being more accurate.

The Haruhi one I got was the Bunny Suit one. So awesome! :D

    They were both $30.

Thankfully this means my closet has more than just a ton of Dragonball and broken Nintendo figures.

    I need a freaking money tree. T^T

I want the new Eva series!!

  • what store?

  • Ever heard of Skyhaven Games?

  • no clue what province do u live in

  • Sorry, but I'm not going to discuss this over a Public Youtube board. Sorry.

    Sorry.

  • Nice review. I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers Figma over Revoltech, even though Revoltech is still pretty awesome.

I hear the newer Freuline Revoltechs are even better than the Figmas. Probably gonna' pick one up soon.

  • uhm can some 1 tell me a website where i can check these toys and see if can buy some

    thanks

  • ebay

  • THERE IS A HARUHI GAME FOR THE WII!?!

  • yep: buts its japanese only

  • Anyone have Frauline Haruka with the wine bottle and bacterias? I am curious as how good that figure is, as with Yoko.

  • i agreed with u 100% Revoltech better with Mech.

  • I want a yuki figma. But those action figures I have to say are extremely delicate..

  • Wow your haruhi figma ids in very good shape! Mine.... Well I'm only ten so I like to play with my figures and both of my haruhi's arms broke of!!! DX DX DX

  • @chascrowder Ha ha, I'm only 13, and my Kagami summer fuku pigtails snapped off! The little rod that connected them just... -sniff- I had to hot glue them back on, but it was my own fault, I wasn't being very careful with her. :( I made sure to be more careful with my Miyuki summer fuku. I only have two, but they sure are fun! ^^

  • @chascrowder AT LEATS U HAVE ONE TToTT

  • woohoo fellow singaporean figma collector!!! i need ur tips in choosing the right figure! should i get the max factory haurhi with the music costume? looks damn nice =) wad's ur opinion?

  • omg i spy a To aru majutsu no index MISAKA figurine!

  • Good eye!

  • thanks :D

i too live in Singapore and i cant find figruines such as To love ru or to aru majutsu no index. Where do u get them from? care to tell me? it would be a great help if u could. :D

  • is there a figma figure website hmm

  • @Actar576295 Yea get yo hairy hands outta the way of the awesome Kotobukiya figure!

  • How did you replace Haruhi's shoes for the Figma Haruhi? I'm having a hard time pulling off her brown shoes. I don't wanna break her foot off =(

  • I only want the Revoltechs that figma hasn't made

  • Same here! I want the bunny outfit Haruhi. But i really hope Figma makes one soon because I love Figma over Revoltech.

  • got a figma haruhi summer ed. and loved it as in everybody when i birng it around for some photo blogging in school. everyone in my club and the one where me and my club share the room fell in love with it as she became a vain figure not sure bout the revoltech though, so figma it is for me

  • can you run haruhi no gekidou on a US wii because im thinking of getting it

  • the revol ones eyes are like " O O" and figma "OO" so i wld buy the figma :D

  • Eh, there's no end to the bashing of the Revoltechs, huh?

To be honest, it seems you've got the Figma first, got used to its idiosyncracies and simply don't like the differences in the Revoltech. Not to say I don't love the Figma, but IMO, this is one of few outstanding Revoltechs and would have it by now if I didn't have to pay $90 to get it with the game.

For example, the slightly out of proportion Revoltech makes it stand out more IRL (don't forget anime characters have SOME WIDE EYES).

  • A major argument I have about your review is that from the usual front viewing position, the Figma joints ACTUALLY stand out more (especially at the elbow). The only regard I have against the Revoltech here is the back of the knees and its GODDAMNED Stand From HELLLL.

And while it's great that Figmas come with a zip bag, I honestly hope no otaku uses them, for fear of tearing them in light of their "limited edition" status (I keep my Saber in a small, rigid [old razor] box for transport).

  • Also, I'm not sure it's fair to compare the two sets as products, as the Revoltech is only a limited edition tie-in with the game. Certainly the Figma is a better value, but the Revoltechs acutally have interchangable faces and accessories (although only because a jackass like myself bought all four Kadokawa magazines that came with the promotion busts).

Final point: your Figma has a pasty, unappealing complexion, which biased me a little (your camera might have messed that up).

  • I would definitely go for the Figma. I bought a Haruhi yesterday, and I think I would have accidently gotten the Revoltech if I didn't watch this video.

    Thanks Actar. :)

  • eyes on Reveltech: -_____- WRONG

    eyes on figma: -_- RIGHT

figma looks beter and has more deatail and more articulation.

  • actually revoltech is better when it comes to robots and mechs

  • That's because MaxFactory hasn't made any figma mechs.

  • so detailed!! :o

  • Revoltech only has one advantage over Figma..

    It's Price.

It's lower level of detail and lesser accessories cause it to have lower average selling price.

  • That is indeed a great point and it is unfortunate I didn't think of it at the time of making this video. Revoltechs are indeed more affordable, but only to a small extent. (^.^)

  • The Figma one was much better! Thank you so much for making this video, now I know which one is better.

  • I agree! I really want to get the figma one now that I saw this video.

  • i want that game ever since i saw the anime yesterday, so i need 2 buy a wii!!

  • I like figma better, but I've bought two robotechs today because it was cheaper. (A two for one package deal). Next time I buy a figure I'll get a figma...but then again the place I visited only sold cheaper anime figures, and most of those were robotechs...

  • "The eyes are too far apart"

    CANNOT UNSEEE!!!!

  • Decided to go with the Figma based on this video. Definitely enjoying it. Very handy video.

  • ok thats true revoltechs come with hands and faces(but not all of them) o.o

  • Revoltech should stick to the mechs

  • @NakuX2 You should see my pink plugsuit Mari Illustrious Revoltech pose I use for my Droid phone's wallpaper.

  • hmmm....actually, on t figma figure she hz da wrong shoes. in da manga ver of haruhi, revoltech is rght, t ribbon IS low, along w t pop fiction ver. however, t revoltech ver came from a game box, so wat do ya expect? ....ok i ll shut up now XD

  • But on the figma it had the extra shoes which was the pair Haruhi wore in the manga.I know this figure was made to be used for the haruhi busts but some of the parts from the busts are too big like on the pointing hand one her hand was the size of her head and the ribbon of the serifuku in the manga the bow part is at the bottem of her shirt so you can still see her belt. Also if you look closley the busts theres somthing off. Then again this is only my opinion and you may think somthing else.

  • i like fraulein more cause the joint on figma's look retarded

  • I'm glad I have the original. :)

  • i think theres an obvious winner here lol

the revoltech is hardly accurate and does look shard to pose.

plus the colors on the seifuku are a bit off.

the revoltech just look slike its designed to stand there, the figma looks so much more epic, exciting, w/e you wanna call it the figma just looks so much better!

  • i really want a haruhi suzumiya nendoroid were can i get one?

  • Figma is better than revoltech beacause they have packs of hands and faces but revoltech dosen't so ill vote Figma!

  • could you please make a reveiw of Tsuruya-San if u can can u reply and tell me ok.

  • I don't think you picked the best Fraulein example to compare accessories with Figma. Since the school uniform Haruhi was bundled with the game it was designed to swap accessories, faces, arms and hair parts with the 4 busts that came in magazines. If you take a look at the bunny girl Haruhi you'll see a selection of faces and accessories much better representative of the current Fraulein figures. It's even designed to swap faces with the school uniform version and busts.

  • The main reason I chose this Fraulein is due to the fact that both of them had the same outfits. The only difference you mentioned between this one and the others are the accessories. Even if you ignore the point about Figmas winning due to accessories, the difference in design is what I'm really getting at.

As for accessories, the Yuki Fraulein and Figma have nearly identical accessories. Thus, the Figma rises above once again.

  • Yes, from what I think, the Figma designs are way better in quality then Fraulein. As for the Bunny Haruhi your talking about, her thighs just look kinda weird, they're bigger then her waist. O_O My point is, if the figure looks like crap, I don't care about the accessories or how meny there are.

  • stop molesting her.. hehe.. jk ;p

  • Nice Review.

    :P

    Does all Singaporeans speak english?

  • Er, I suppose so. Why'd you ask?

Personally, I feel that our culture is getting more and more Westernized which I think is great.

  • Very good review and title. XD I think figmas were bad at first because of the joints, but that's not bad at all because you can create different poses with them with the stand. I might wanna start buying figmas. Thank you.

  • very good review there. some comments for you though, don't breathe too deeply into the mic and also structure your sentences properly with better intonation. cause i'm like quite annoyed at your sentence tone.

  • Thanks for this review! I was always wondering what the exact differences were. I have some Figma figures in my collection, and was pretty sure I'd get the Revoltech combat maid Mikuru, but since Figma will also release her in the summer, I really was wondering which would be a better choice. After seeing this review, I'll stay with Figma.

  • I've noticed with some Revoltech Frauleins that the stand is too long for the figure...So if you want to put the stand around their waste (if you can fit them on their waiste...sometimes it looks like the hook won't go around their waste) they hover WAY above the bottom of the stand and if you want them on solid ground, you have to put the hook around their neck...which looks kinda dumb in my opinion. I never really have liked Revoltech Fraulein, especially since their Saber. Figma all the way!

  • Yes, the stand being too long is indeed a common problem with the Revoltechs.
