Once Cookie Monster ate Mumford's wand at the end, it would have looked funny if something magical happened to Cookie Monster on the inside after eating Mumford's wand.
Why did Mumford need a volunteer on stage which was Cookie Monster if Cookie Monster didn't do anything to assist Mumford? Was having a volunteer just to have someone get a close look at seeing the cookies disappearing and reappearing? If so, that was strange since people in the audience could probably see it clearly.
