  • OMG, how much memories. I have seen this 23 or 24 year ago.

  • Does anyone know how to play the funeral scene music on piano? I can't seem to figure it out.

  • I hope that happens at my funeral.

  • This even included the original MPPDA disclaimer at the very beginning.

  • Thank you, I searched for years to find it!

It made me cry the finding!

Thanks! A childhood memory which comes ...

(sorry for bad English, I'm a belgian)

  • And a heartless person disliked this....-_-"

  • I swear I cried everytime I watched this as a child-- now I'm 18 and this cartoon still gets to me. It reminds me of my deceased grandmother because we used to watch it together. T_T

  • I'm 33 and it still makes me sad.

  • @TheBookworm282 Hey, I'm happy you found it on my channel :D

  • i have a feeling this will soon be a tille of a horror movie or just a movie soon....

  • I'm a 24 year old man and this made me cry.

  • i remeber these there such great works of art

  • This was one of the cartoon to feature the 1935 Paramount logo intact (no NTA or UM&M) using the 3D effects with clouds moves with the logo. They used that in "Poor Cinderella", "Time For Love" and a few other cartoons. The ending that doesn't say "In Technicolor" it wasn't used until 1936 or 1937.

  • I really do wish I could remember the VHS tape we use to have. Im young but when I was little my paw paw bought us quality cartoon classics like this. If anyone can remember it please message me. This takes me back when I would sit in my sleeping bag on the floor eating cracker jackers watching these wonderful cartoons.

  • @Xixi1991 ohhh i remember:)

  • These Fleischer cartoons are real works of art.

  • Finally, a print that's not RUINED by NTA or U.M.&M. Corporation!

I have to say, for a high quality version, this truly is a treat to be enjoyed! And call me creepy for this, but compared to the Public Domain remake, the mother robin's durge during the funeral is rather haunting. I was actually feeling her emotions as well all the other birds.

Ladies and gentlemen, THAT IS HOW YOU MAKE A CARTOON!

  • @tbone2004 what with al the shit the're making nowadays ;-; I miss the good old days from when I was five

  • @tbone2004 And besides, I think that this cartoon shows how important it is to think of others before you think about yourself.

  • @Rkerekes13 A moral that most kids need to learn in this day in age.

  • @tbone2004 Yeah, I know. When that little boy shot that poor baby bird, he wasn't thinking about the baby bird; he was only thinking about himself and what he wanted to do. Doesn't it kinda remind you of David and Bathsheba?

  • @tbone2004 One. The titles are fake restored titles. The MPAA screen has the same MPAA number at the beginning as "Dancing on the Moon", which was restored in the 90's by the UCLA Film and Television Archive. They just inserted it so nobody could know the difference.

  • And two tbone2004. It is. the "Fleischer" attempt to make it as sad a Disney Silly Symphony. While yes, it's equally as sad in my book.

  • @CartoonCookie1 But it's nice to see that the original print is redone so well. It's nicer to see the Paramount logo instead of NTA.

  • I remember seeing this when I was a little kid on some VHS of public domain cartoons, but for some reason I remember it being black and white.

  • Thanks for uploading this film. Contrary to your plot description, this is not the 1949 remake with Little Audrey. It's the 1935 original with an unnamed boy.
