  • Thanks for your help anyway.

  • Thanks for the advise. But I don't know how to contact him.

  • @RoadRunnerll7

    Sorry I can't help you.

Tom lives in northern California in or near the San Francisco bay area.

  • I really want to learn this song. Where can I find the sheet music for it? It would be very helpful if you could help me. Thanks.

  • @RoadRunnerll7

I would suggest that you try to contact Tom Brier to find the music.

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • @RoadRunnerll7 Ron O'Dell (Keeper1st on YouTube) made this arrangement, search for his channel, you'll find it there :-). Also, Tom can be contacted on Facebook.

  • Отлично качает бассы! You have a lot of fans in Russia, Tom! Come to Moscow with your concerts!

  • Hey, what's on toms left pinky finger?

  • @fattyofdro39

    I think it's a truck tire.

  • @prince223681 yeah kyle is brilliant for his age, but he has nothing on tom brier, if you go to keeper1st''s channel you can see all his works.

  • Tom brier vs. Kyle Landry ...o.O

  • @prince223681

    Not even a close contest.

Kyle needs a bunch more lessons over a few more years.

  • @tdub1941

True i like some video's of Kyle, But when mr. Brier is playing he get's bashed out of the arena. ;)

  • @tdub1941 I wouldn't say that. These two come very close when it comes to equal talent.

  • holy shit

  • Someone @ has to talk this guy.

  • @FredyGarbagis

    What do you mean?

  • @tdub1941 Ops, I meant someone @ Nintendo. xD He's awesome. This version of KK Ragtime should be in the next Smash Bros.

  • @FredyGarbagis

Thanks for the clarification. I was clueless!

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • @FredyGarbagis You are right

  • @FredyGarbagis, you are right

  • just like scott joplin, tom is now one of my inspirational people. :)

  • "Do not play this piece fast... it is never right to play Ragtime fast..." - Scott Joplin

    Well done, sir!

  • Hey, great camera angle and sound on this nice yamaha...not too loud or harsh! I like the piccolo embellishments and this tune especially since my maiden name initials are KK!

  • such an old man such a new game sigh im getting mixed up

  • cat people cat people....

  • If I practiced more instead of watching these awesome videos, perhaps I might almost be1/100 as good. Na, I like watching the videos!

  • @haquinton,

I'm not even going to try!

    Yep, Mr. Brier is phenomenal.

I always love to catch video of him when I get the chance.

    Thanks for watching.

  • THIS IS INSANEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • bartender, I'll have a sarsaparilla

  • I still think these Videos have way too little Views. They should be at least 1 Million.

  • @47H10N

I think 5 to 10 million would be about right.

Thanks for being one of them!

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • Nicely played!

  • I just started learning this my ear.. I have it, but now I need to give it chords and PIZZAZ :D

  • Why only Ragtime? Is it just HIS type of Music, or does he also play other types of Music?

No Critiicism, i'm lovin it, but I started to learn Piano on my own (starting with 20 Years -.-) and I play every kind of Music I can get sheets for (and aren't TOO hard for me).

Just started with your Yoshi Islands Athletic Theme.

  • @47H10N

There are many pianists that just love the ragtime era and music. Tom Brier is one of those, and he also has composed quite a few of his own rags. He is a phenomenal performer with exceptional sight reading skills. I've witnessed occasions when folks have place a complicated piece of music in front of him, that he has never seen, and he rolls through it like he had known it for years.

Good luck on your piano studies. And, thanks for watching.

  • Awahh, what happened to Tom's beloved left hand's pinky finger DD: IS HE OKAY DON'T LET HIM PASS OUT I LURVE HIS MUSIC <33

  • @chak1o1star He cut his finger on the keys when pounding "Razor Blades" very loudly for a 100-year-old cylinder recording device demonstration on Saturday. He declared that he wouldn't play during after-hours to let his finger heal. But here he is in after-hours, and continued until dawn Monday morning!

  • I went to Grade school with Tom. He played this well in 5th grade. A good Rag Time tune played by this guy reminds me of the smell of hersheys chocolate just before an Oakdale rainy day. Nice work Tom !!

  • @thegujable

    Cool Comment! Thanks!

  • @TurmoilTom

Yes, Tom was a slow learner in his early years and was held back in the 5th grade for 32 years. His last year in 5th grade was 2008. So this should explain your concern.

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • @TurmoilTom He said that Tom "played this well" as in the way he is playing -- not this particular tune!

  • 5 stars ;)

  • dude i feel lie im in a a saloon when i hear this hahaha

  • Kazumi Totaka would be proud indeed! =D great playing!

  • He makes it sound so smooth and fluid... =D

It makes me wanna go learn this song!!

  • I watch this video almost every day, it makes me feel so happy :D

    Awesome preformance

  • My favorite part's at 1:43 where Andrew Barrett "cranks" the piano like it were a music box.

Words are insufficient to describe Brier's playing.

  • Yup, this is another of my BIG favorites!

    Thanks for watching.

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • Day before my birthday

  • It is Tom's beard that gives him these powers.

  • hmm... I wish I could grow a massive neckbeard

  • @mrfamous333 Funniest comment that I've read on ALL piano videos that I've watched

  • It sounds so much like K.K. Sliders! Bravo! Bravo!

  • Absolutely brilliant playing! What a talent! Thanks for the playing and the posting!

  • absolutely amazing. I had no idea you could actually get that ragtime feel out of a yamaha. I always assumed they were more of the classical, powerful song-types, but I gladly stand corrected.

  • U got mad skill! im subscribing!

  • Hi and thanks for subscribing!

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • Hello Tom!Another fine piece of piano playing courtesy of your goodself.A really pretty tune.Goes to show that Ragtime is still alive and well and bringing forth healthy children. Most enjoyable.

  • Yes, this is one of my favorites. I sneak a listen every now & then!

  • Tom Brier is super!

  • Thanks for watching, and your observation is correct! He is super!

    Happy Holidays!

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • WOW, I love KK Ragtime (my initial initials!)5*

  • ME Too - this is one fantastic melody!

    We pick good ones!

    RJMonkey

  • By the way, Tom, the composer's name is Kazumi Totaka. The piano arrangement is mine (and Brier embellishes upon it brilliantly as usual!).

  • Ron,

    Excellent comment!

Thanks, I'll add it to the writeup.

    Tom

  • It is "K.K. Ragtime." Brier played this piece for the first time sight reading it. Did really well.

  • ragtimebuddy is right. It's KK Ragtime he's playing. In fact, he sight read that piece for the first time. He did very well.

  • I think this is called, "K.K. Ragtime" from the video game, "Animal Crossing."

  • You might be right, but I'm gonna hold out for some confirmations! Thanks. It is certainly a fun melody.

    RJMoonkey

  • Yes, that's what it is. I gave Tom my transcription of this at the 2007 festival and the video of him sight-reading it has become one of the most popular videos I've ever posted.

  • Excellent camera work and a fun song! --Bob

  • Thankya Bobby!
