Dear All,

I have some questions inspired by the scenery of this FSX mission:

(1) If Microsoft create a new FSX version for elderly people to virtually travel around the world for sightseeing, what do you think?

(2) What should be specially emphaise in the "elderly sightseeing version" of FSX? (eg. scene, simple aerodynamic action, control interface encouraging physical exercise...etc)

(3) if you are the programmer, how will you design it?

I have an "Alien" with a core duo processor. I set all settings to max and mine looks like this, but has smoother frame rates. I actually beached the Goose and lowered my landing gear and taxied up on the grass and turned around while waiting for the scientist. By the time I "deadstick" landed, my adrenaline was pumping, I hit the brakes a bit hard and nose dived, but lived! A flight yoke and rudder pedals are recommended for FSX.

Im kinda new too, Is there a way to move a plane, like on a taxi way, without making the wings move like its flying? coz i was on the ground turning, sharp turn left and the flaps and such on that side of the wing went down, like u would when turning. Is there a special taxi key?

Iced you have to "slide" the plane in sideways to slow it down. Hold the tail rudder at full while steering, come to almost a stall and let go of the rudder and glide on in. Its a bit tricky for sure.

Press shift-6 then click the floats switch until the wing floats come down.

Any time I select a mission and click Go To Briefing, FSX shuts down. It didn't always do this. I assume it is because of some add-on I installed, but I don't know which one.

I know I could uninstall them one by one and see which is causing the problem, but I no longer have the installers for some of them, and I would rather have the add-on aircraft/scenery that the missions.

Anyone know of another way to fix this problem?

One of the flaps fails to go down, raise the flaps and you will be able to land.

If you have FSX but don't have this mission, it's probably because you don't have the deluxe edition.

Go into the cockpit view and look strait outside. Then look up about 40-50 degrees and there will be three swithches. Thats how you lower and raise them.

omg I just finished this mission... It was so unexpected especially how i just got the game and this is my first mission. FS 2004 had nothing like this. Anyway the best part was surviving the galling series of engine failures. BUT I MADE IT AND IT WAS TOTALLY POSSIBLE! Woo! Btw nice video for some reason your game looks cleaner than mine... probably youtube's compression.

Who knows what the procedure is when engines fail? Flaps up or down, engine power to the remaining engine, etc.

If you have problem to land after the temple, there is a bug you can use. Don't wait for picking her up at the temple, head directly to the airport. (I flew when she was heading back to the plane but wasn't inside it.) Near landing she should pop up in the plane, then the motor catch fire. But you saved time and can land safety in one piece. I also flew hi and didn't use flaps, and land at the airport from the sea to the mountain. good luck!

Why did you not show the landing at Quincemil? The landing is almost impossible! Because the plane suffers from control problems, then right engine failure, then no power from the left engine, whilst the altitude indicator, the speed indicator and the aptitude indicator all fail! That's the only bit i can't do, the landing!!!

I've just done this mission, but I failed it, because I crashed while trying to leave when the snake statues started to shake in the grass. I will try again this mission one other day, now it is in my country 10:51 and I was somewhat tired, so next time I hope to succeed this mission.

Look, if you have a good computer. You will have to go into advanced settings to get the best visuals out of the game. I suggest turning shadows on ground scenery off as it murders your frame rates. it did to me and I have a pretty kick ass computer.

One side of flaps stops working after you takeoff from the temple back to base. That's why it tilts you. Jeave the flaps up. Also, the engine will catch fire. You will become a glider. You might want to climb a bit.

And WATCH THE LANDING! The thing is so prone to nosing over.

By the way, I got a flying lesson in about 3 hours so I might have to go. I'm going solo again.

This video has been taken before FSX SP1, at that time I get the reflection water setting slider MAX, and today SP1 I put it MAX too.

It costs FPS but very beautiful.

Wow....Wicked graphics for FSX even tho it is a bit jerky for me. But still has an acceptable frame rate. I love it nice a smooth. Imagine how FSX is going to look in two years with frame rate in the 60s. (That's my minimum) Most computer cannot run FSX at it's full setting. The technology is not available to the public yet or it is too expensive to buy. Nevertheless, the video was nice.
