@MisAnnThorpe There is a mugshot of a young sinatra when he was in Juvenile hall, Tony Soprano has it on his office wall in the series. One of the cameramen commented that is was the spitting image of Gary Numan.
Fans who saw it from a distance emailed in asking if Tony was a Numan fan?
Do you know what.. The end of this interview is Gary showing a lot of class... He edged the door open he says????? Fuck me he blew it wide open and removed it from its hindges.
He is right in that he says that others took it further but the bravery and foresight is his in my eyes.
Still honest as hell to this day, like a real artist he's wearing his heart on his sleeve, completely open and honest, no B.S. acting like god, pouting into the camera or acting like nothing matters but him. amazing, too bad more true ARTISTS don't exhist, although i guess that's what makes them what they are to the rest of us out here wearing such a facaude.
What a great bloke! Humble, honest, and an inspiration! My all time fave musician that got me into synthesizers and playing in bands. Seen him in concert about 12 times, always gives 112% on stage. Go see him you will not be disapointed.
@BulletProofCorpse - I find that with most of his interviews. I think the formal interviewers scare him! To hear a relaxed Gary, listen to the 4 part interview with Noel Fielding on YouTube. You'll love it.
Gary is an amazing Human being,he should be be looked to as an example of how to be.Honestly he really is so spiritual and just not full of himself at all.
When you consider the genius of the man and the amazing music he has created its amazing he is so humble. You can tell he genuinely believes that 'better' people than him made better music...What?Gary you made some of the best electronic music ever, thats why people admire you.
OH damn i missed the thumbs up button :-s totally agree with you on that one man Gary has to be right up there at the top for me, his old stuff and his new stuff and everything inbetween! respect to him
I love this video thanks for posting it. I would aspire to be as modest as him with all his 30 years of just breathtaking achievements and the sheer amount of musicians who respect and admire his work. x
omg he's way too humble. ^_^ met him twice, such a nice bloke, and for an atheist, oddly enough the best word I can use to describe him is spiritual, if not downright holy. one of the nicest guys I've ever met.
I totally agree with you. He is humble, modest, free from BS and just very open and honest. It is so touching in a musician who is 50. Can you imagine any other musician who has been around for 30 years+ acting this down to earth. Gary has, I believe mild Aspergers and he was only a wee lad of 21 living with his Mum and Dad when he was hugely famous - most of us would have kids older than that by now. Lovely Man.x
Gary bows very low, and is very humble and respectful here. Hell, he's even *nurturing* the people he's talking to.
All I can see is some corporate industry narcissists trying to go for some cheap shots and ride the recently recycled coattails of his fame, and getting nothing but graciousness in return.
See how the tit from Gomez backtracks like the character in the fast show who disagrees then agrees. Shouldnt be allowed /yes it should be allowed (Bell end)
@BULLETPROOFGONG lol. Look what the other pair have done since they were in a band-sweet fa. Bunton was never a singer anyway and neither was that hippy. The hippy never said a thing after getting blazed by the maestro
Boring, titless, talentless, two faced tart! She'd slagged him off before & as far as i know he was well aware of it. He's a very intelligent, clued up & decent chap though, & so just acts civil & gives the interview. Exposure's exposure but Numan's no fool.
Numan's a very thoughtful, genuine and honest person to interview. One of the most unique musicians of the last 30 years, it's brilliant that he's still revelant and still doing truly great music.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@ledjarde Fuck off, Numan isn't honest or genuine, take for example the Micromusic DVD release, touted as a remaster from the original master tapes that would also feature new camera angles and never before seen footage. The end result is a transfer from a Laserdisc with the LO81 audio mix slapped on top. He's a lying lazy cunt.

Great clip! The only bad thing about this video is the music in the background... it would be much better without.

I have been a Numan fan since the beginning and I totally respect his privacy. As for the so-called UD's that camped in his territory "Shame on You"

Just adding to my comments below,I rember Gary saying in interview that he always feels awkward in social situations and feels awkward sometimes.
I think he has mild aspergers or is definitely on the autism spectrum somewhere.I know because I feel like that and I have aspergers.
I agree Tom does not come across very well in this interview and Gary is very graceful in his attitude when Tom is slagging off someone elses music.
gary is awesome.Peace.

You are correct. Gary does have Aspergers. And you are also correct about Gary being awesome.
