I know that the resignation of David Laws is really a, I quote from The Times:" wobble" for the new government. However, I should always remind you all that we MUST NOT pin down on the minor bits and focusing on the gossips, scandals or anything irrelevant to the objective and accomplishment of this government. Ultimately, if the economic and domestic policies INTRODUCED by this New Government does POSITIVELY WORK, who really cares whether David Laws had spent those £400,000 improperly??!!
@boldertits Why presume tory, just out of interest? I could've said in response to your comment: "Socialist, I presume" but that probably would've sounded ignorant.
I have to agree. Your matching left and right wing and making the whole country worse off. I mean really, you got the Lib Dems, who are a planned version of Labour, mixed with shadow taxing Tories. I Seriously believe that the last time we saw a Tory government was hell.
However, this could have worked with the Liberals neutralizing the Tories. They didn't and now it is likely to go like you said.
Clegg and the Libs have twisted the arm of Tories into doing one particular measure that will be a big benefit to people. They are raising the tax allowance threshold to 10k, this is really going to help poorer workers who are struggling with stupidly overpriced bills and rents and council tax so i commend Nick Clegg for that.

how come Clegg is deputy PM when the Crats only got 57 seats? this tiny party has held the Tories to ransom, and the new gov is almost the same as Labour. more debt, tax and waste to come.
@TheZanipolo They got over 20% of the vote they should have about 130 seats. Also these to party's have over 50% vote better than Blair with less than 40% and FAR better than Brown who got NO votes.
@TheGriff45 and I hate people who say swear words are just words. The best thing they can do is change the voting system.
If anything is totally undemocratic its the voting system in Britain, Lib with about 23% of the votes getting only 59 seats doesnt make sence, and partys lik UKIP with a million votes not getting a single seat is just madness...
If they change the voting system i might have some hope in this hung parlement.
@Clausewitzz I quite agree but do the British People understand this? No I don't think so they are either set in their ways or out Binge Drinking and couldn't care less.
@TheGriff45 See my reply to teddings there are other words in the English Language. Was it your teachers or your parents that taught you to swear? My guess is you didn't go to school and never saw your parents. Out on the streets with the other yobo's no doubt.
@jjamjj I hope you are wrong because they should keep the tory policies in the centre and stop any right wing policies going through. At the end we should have a new electoral system which will give a completely different result because people will be able to vote for who they want to win instead of tacticle voting.
I'm glad he's PM and Clegg is deputy. EMA is a total waste of money that could be better spent. Hopefully, they will both sort the screwed up benifit system out as well. Go Con-Dem! :)
The feeling is more than mutual, & I am not aware of you, or anyone else on this page for that matter, proving me wrong about anything i've said, but go ahead- laugh your laugh of ignorance. The typical reaction of the ignorant & un-informed, trying to cling to their naivety for all it's worth. Keep on studying, you have much to learn.
I hope the liberal members of the coalition recognise their place and keep quiet. The people in general didn't vote for them and, therefore, don't want their policies.
@ynithrix - 35% of the population voted Conservative and 25% of the Population voted Lib Democrat - Together they have 60% of the vote which makes them a strong government...
Griff you tory boy twat, it is because YOU are a moron that you have no idea about anything i'm saying, if you did, you would understand exactly WHY Brown did those things. Try learning something about history & politics without relying on mainstream media to tell you what to think, instead of reading gay little Harry Potter books. Whenever you manage to make it onto adult literature, you may just get the awakening of a lifetime! Griff45? Wanker. 'lol's'
I really want this to work for the good of the UK but I fear that these so called "new politics" will amount to nothing and any changes will be little more then cosmetic and it will simply be business as usual.
Being 31 I can remember Thatcher, Major, Blair and Brown and if there is one thing I have learned over the years it is that none of the main parties really represent the average person on the street.
But still I have my fingers crossed and am hoping for the best.
I'm genuinely warming to the idea of this coalition government, i've watched this press conferance a coupl of times and Cameron & Clegg seem to have a good rapport between them. I'm glad to hear them comment on having the choice to make this coalition a reality, at the end of the day they both had a choice and they've chosen to make this coalition in the national interest. Good for them i say.
Yes thank God we've just got rid of the countrys most experienced financial minded politician whilst we are on the cusp of financial meltdown, and replaced him with an inexperienced toff-boy, Tony Blair rip-off !
@daveismyname1980 hear hear, gordon is a true statesman and this will be borne out when they make him head of the i.m.f. what we have now is beavis and butthead, ronnie and reggie, the two ronnies, jedward, dick and dom, the chuckle brothers and all the other clowns, pass the ky jelly to nick 'cause he's sure as hell going to need it as cameron and his bunch of pscyhophants shaft him from every angle.
The recession occurred on Gordon Brown's watch. To call him the "most experienced financial minded politician" for being PM through the recession is like calling someone an experienced driver for surviving a car accident.
@WhyCantIVote he is an economist and was chancellor under Blair, therefore making him the most experienced financially minded politician available. after all, he led us through the recession is the best way we could have been led.
You might have a valid point, if you hadn't completely misinterpreted what has been said, and if it wasn't for the fact you clearly have no idea that this recession has been 70 years or more in the making, was deliberately contrived by the corporate banks, and that Gordon Brown was the most effective chancellor in living memory. Why can't you vote? Because you're a schoolkid who knows nothing.
The recession was caused by the interest rate policy of the Bank of England; price fixing never does any good. Gordon Brown had the power to alter that policy if he desired; he did not.
Gordon claimed that the recession was the beginning of a new world order. I'm not a conspiracy theorist - but you are. Why, then, do you support Gordon Brown?
@WhyCantIVote a global recession was caused by the bank of englands interest rate policy? Rubbish, ever heard of the national debt? i.e the total amount borrowed from Rothschild owned corporate bank of england, at INTEREST since the days of the great depression. Your knowledge is severely hampered by your reliance on mainstream media. Why then do you suppose Brown did not alter that policy? Precisely because he did NOT have the power to do so, regardless of what the BBC may tell you.
The Bank of England isn't the only central bank with that policy; the USA fed, ECB, PBC and others all have similar policies. And take a guess which chancellor granted the Bank of England any autonomy. The government owns the bank; hence the government can control the bank's policies if it so desires.
The country borrows >£400Million/day; if you're against public borrowing then why do you support Gordon Brown?
You have bought into the lie, which is the complete opposite of the truth. Do your own research into the bank of england, and the other institutions you mention such as the federal reserve and you will find something interesting, that they are all rothschild/rockefeller controlled, and that the government does NOT control the B.O.E, it is the bank which controls the government. If your analogy were accurate, then our government is in debt to itself by trillions of pounds!
The Federal Reserve and the Bank of England are under the control of their respective governments; the President or the Prime Minister can effect a change in policy on a whim.
Don't believe everything you read, I say again, then how can these governments be indebted by trillions to THEMSELVES?? If the governments control the banks then why can they only operate by borrowing money from them with interest attatched??? & No, I didn't bet on a coalition, I bet that Cameron would be PM.
...and the recession IS the beginning of the New World Order, you said it yourself, and it was created to be as such. I am not a Brown supporter, Brown was a pawn in a political game, and carried out the role intended for him as did Blair before him.
You said Brown was financially experienced and better than David Cameron. If you didn't support him in some way then why do you care when he is removed?
I didn't say the recession was the beginning of the new world order; Gordon Brown did.
Because I consider Brown would have been better suited to the predicament we are currently in, unfortunately our "democracy" is little more than a media-manipulated popularity contest. And I am aware of Browns comment, and have explained in an earlier post as to why this is. The party political system is a smokescreen, to mask the unrepenting global agenda which pulls it's strings, why do you consider it is that we switch from one party to the next, but nothing ever changes?
oh &I don't care, I have known Cameron would be the next PM for quite some time, ever since I found out his links to the Rothschild banking dynasty and his support of Zionism, I made a nice few quid betting on the fact as well, placed my bet in 2007, all politicians are as bad as each other - either completely naive, or corrupt to the core. PM Dave is nothing more than the next stage of the plan for the NWO.
I can only assume you are a bitter Labour supporter. Listen - these two have sacraficed a lot of party policy, and have made a lot of concessions to make this work. The end result is, I think, a really good coalition manifesto. Certainly better than anything I thought would come out of a hung parliament.
If it works, I think this could be one of the best governments we have had in a fair while.
@zerker12568901 Oh yes he did! he saved my savings from going down the drain when Northen Rock were going into liquidation. He saved millions of people from losing their money in the Royal bank of Scotland, The Natwest and The Halifax. Don't you ever follow the news?
Eventually when these banks are back to making profit they will be privatised again and the Government will get their money back and Cameron will get the glory!
You completely ignore the actual cause of the recession. Do you really think that all the banks simultaneously decided to piss their money away for no reason?
Quite right, I strongly recommend reading medieval and middle French literature. Back to feudal times. The goat and the chicken will be worth more than gold in not too long from now! People fail constantly to see the bigger picture, we have become a schizoid people.
@WhyCantIVote Well, On your reply about Banks pissing their money away: I suppose that's one way of putting it, at least most people in this country would understand that. However, if you are intelligent enough why not surf the net to find out how the Banks invested our money in Bonds without checking where Lehmans were investing it. The Sub Prime Market is where the money went. If you don't know what that means look it up!
But you are ignoring their motivation for moving so much money into that market. Incompetence isn't going to account for all the banks investing in the wrong sector; if the bankers were incompetent they wouldn't have got their high-paying jobs in the first place.
Quite right, Griff here is clearly as uneloquent, as he is un-intelligent, and is merely becoming, by his own admission angry & frustrated, most likely due to his being confronted with his own ignorance & denial, which is why he needs to resort to petulant name-calling & insults, as he has nothing constructive to say when challenged on his naive opinions
So Gordon Brown, (Robin Hood) heads back to the forest to see his Merry Men and David Cameron, (The Sheriff of Nottingham) together with George Osborne, (Sir Guy Gisbon) try to gain favours from Nick Clegg (Maid Marion) to try and stitch up the village peasants (the General Public) and tax them to the hilt! Wake up Nick (Maid Marion) you should have married Gordon Brown (Robin Hood)!
@ChalkeyProductions It has nothing to do with how they are going to talk about stuff. They are lining their own pockets and licking ass,. It makes me sick and you lap up this ball.
I wish them luck (they'll need it), but maybe, just maybe, this is the dawn of a new era in British politics, based upon co-operation and collaboration, instead of the adversarial politics and Labour-Conservative pendulum we have grown used to.
unfortunately for you, you are clearly already more deluded than I ever will be, which is why you find it possible to choose ignorance of the facts staring you in the face. Your 'crusade' against conspiracies must be really naking waves with such completely insubstantial opinions, & comments void of any knowledge on the subject. Enjoy your ignorance...
@daveismyname1980 Oh, I have plenty of constructive things to say, just not to weirdos detached from reality. Still, carry on, I am finding you very humourous.. :)
@anxresi , no, you have NOTHING to say in refuting ANYTHING i've said, which is why you have had to resort to the typical childish namecalling. Chances are you're one of these stuck up little tory boys not even old enough to remember the mess the conservative party left the country in last time. I say again, enjoy your ignorance.
That was an extremely gay comment, which serves only to prove you are an idiot, incapable of serious debate - go and play with the other children tory boy.
@daveismyname1980 And as I said, keep on rapidly descending into raving insanity. It's fun to watch.. just like a car crash. In fact, I think I saw one of those nasty Illuminati types sneak under your bed a minute ago. I think he was wearing a business suit and a pair of shades. They're onto you, you know. GO ON BOY, RUN!! RUN LIKE THE WIND!!
So what? It wasn't King William who got Cameron into power, he's dead ffs.
It was 10million+ people who put Cameron in power. If you don't like this coalition, try attacking what it stands and its policies instead of it's leaders ancestry.
Say what you want about the Conservatives, all I know is that I couldn't take another few years of Labour eroding more and more of my civil liberties. By the end, I found their quietly pushed through policies rather disturbing.
From a foreigners perspective this seems like a great coalition. The fiscally conservative influence of the tories, married with the commitment to markets and civil liberties of the Liberal Democrats.
People can snipe from the sidelines; I predict this will be quite a successful government, and it will be interesting to see how the next parliament is configured with an election under the fairer Alternative Vote system that you are borrowing from Australia.
@keepingcommandments Are you saying that anyone who is a descendant of a monarch (indeed, one that reigned two centuries ago) should be barred from politics? How democratic is that?
@fastertortoise2 It's okay.. tortoises can travel for free!! Just get adopted by a little girl emigrating to Oz, and you'll have a nice comfortable journey in the hold.. for absolutely nothing!! BRILLIANT!!
Please David Cameron never invite silvio berlusconi to number 10 and I'm 100% sure if u link up with president Obama u can make the world better and safe place for everybody . Forget europe and china they started th economic crisic
@kenandchr I think David Cameron is very different from the dusty old richies with their crocet and champagne that ruled the last Conservative govermant. I feel a positive from this outcome. Anythings better than the Socialist joke thats been in charge the last 13 years.
@deaconkris kinnock kicked all the socialists out when he was in charge- Blair moved labour from left to central. And that was the big reason why he won 3 elections. All the socialists have moved to socialist labour
@deaconkris The Labour Party are far from Socialist. And no they're not Communists either, mate. If anything all three parties are of the same Capitalist mold. Self-centred, uncaring, Middle and Upper Class public school type individuals who are out of touch with the Working Class. They're also good friends with the large amoral and immoral corporations and greedy banks who are happy ruining Britain and the rest of the world for the sake of large sums of money.
@kenandchr Although i was not a Lib Dem voter or even a UK voter but I am that person who felt physically sick while listening to the kissy, kissy clap trap. I am just wondering when they will have a surrogate child together, or do a Madonna and adopt one. They will be able to call it "20%VAT". Like Madonna it WILL end in divorce. I always think that the people get the government they deserve. Unfortunately most of the people who voted didn't want the Tories but they got them anyway.
I think the tags for this are wrong. It's a conservative/liberal democrat coalition not a lib/lab coalition. I think the word Conservative should probably be in there somewhere!
cleg loses his party seats ,and gets promoted to deputy pm.How does that work.

@jjamjj I hope you are wrong because they should keep the tory policies in the centre and stop any right wing policies going through. At the end we should have a new electoral system which will give a completely different result because people will be able to vote for who they want to win instead of tacticle voting.

The recession occurred on Gordon Brown's watch. To call him the "most experienced financial minded politician" for being PM through the recession is like calling someone an experienced driver for surviving a car accident.
WhyCantIVote 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote he is an economist and was chancellor under Blair, therefore making him the most experienced financially minded politician available. after all, he led us through the recession is the best way we could have been led.
fredjacko2009 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote lol I like that comparison.
mooxim 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote
Because you're a schoolkid who knows nothing.
daveismyname1980 1 year ago
The recession was caused by the interest rate policy of the Bank of England; price fixing never does any good. Gordon Brown had the power to alter that policy if he desired; he did not.
Gordon claimed that the recession was the beginning of a new world order. I'm not a conspiracy theorist - but you are. Why, then, do you support Gordon Brown?
WhyCantIVote 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote a global recession was caused by the bank of englands interest rate policy? Rubbish, ever heard of the national debt? i.e the total amount borrowed from Rothschild owned corporate bank of england, at INTEREST since the days of the great depression. Your knowledge is severely hampered by your reliance on mainstream media. Why then do you suppose Brown did not alter that policy? Precisely because he did NOT have the power to do so, regardless of what the BBC may tell you.
daveismyname1980 1 year ago
The Bank of England isn't the only central bank with that policy; the USA fed, ECB, PBC and others all have similar policies. And take a guess which chancellor granted the Bank of England any autonomy. The government owns the bank; hence the government can control the bank's policies if it so desires.
The country borrows >£400Million/day; if you're against public borrowing then why do you support Gordon Brown?
WhyCantIVote 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote
THINK!
daveismyname1980 1 year ago
The Federal Reserve and the Bank of England are under the control of their respective governments; the President or the Prime Minister can effect a change in policy on a whim.
WhyCantIVote 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote
Don't believe everything you read, I say again, then how can these governments be indebted by trillions to THEMSELVES?? If the governments control the banks then why can they only operate by borrowing money from them with interest attatched??? & No, I didn't bet on a coalition, I bet that Cameron would be PM.
daveismyname1980 1 year ago
They don't control all the banks; they only control their central banks. They manipulate the interest rate by manipulating the money supply.
WhyCantIVote 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote
The entire global PRIVATE banking system is dominated by Rothschild, the second part is where I agree with you.
daveismyname1980 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote
...and the recession IS the beginning of the New World Order, you said it yourself, and it was created to be as such. I am not a Brown supporter, Brown was a pawn in a political game, and carried out the role intended for him as did Blair before him.
daveismyname1980 1 year ago
You said Brown was financially experienced and better than David Cameron. If you didn't support him in some way then why do you care when he is removed?
I didn't say the recession was the beginning of the new world order; Gordon Brown did.
WhyCantIVote 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote
Because I consider Brown would have been better suited to the predicament we are currently in, unfortunately our "democracy" is little more than a media-manipulated popularity contest. And I am aware of Browns comment, and have explained in an earlier post as to why this is. The party political system is a smokescreen, to mask the unrepenting global agenda which pulls it's strings, why do you consider it is that we switch from one party to the next, but nothing ever changes?
daveismyname1980 1 year ago
If nothing ever changes then why do you care about the Conservatives getting in?
WhyCantIVote 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote
oh &I don't care, I have known Cameron would be the next PM for quite some time, ever since I found out his links to the Rothschild banking dynasty and his support of Zionism, I made a nice few quid betting on the fact as well, placed my bet in 2007, all politicians are as bad as each other - either completely naive, or corrupt to the core. PM Dave is nothing more than the next stage of the plan for the NWO.

@zerker12568901 Oh yes he did! he saved my savings from going down the drain when Northen Rock were going into liquidation. He saved millions of people from losing their money in the Royal bank of Scotland, The Natwest and The Halifax. Don't you ever follow the news?
Eventually when these banks are back to making profit they will be privatised again and the Government will get their money back and Cameron will get the glory!
bille1131 1 year ago
You completely ignore the actual cause of the recession. Do you really think that all the banks simultaneously decided to piss their money away for no reason?
WhyCantIVote 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote
Quite right, I strongly recommend reading medieval and middle French literature. Back to feudal times. The goat and the chicken will be worth more than gold in not too long from now! People fail constantly to see the bigger picture, we have become a schizoid people.
jacobbengali1 1 year ago
@WhyCantIVote Well, On your reply about Banks pissing their money away: I suppose that's one way of putting it, at least most people in this country would understand that. However, if you are intelligent enough why not surf the net to find out how the Banks invested our money in Bonds without checking where Lehmans were investing it. The Sub Prime Market is where the money went. If you don't know what that means look it up!
bille1131 1 year ago
But you are ignoring their motivation for moving so much money into that market. Incompetence isn't going to account for all the banks investing in the wrong sector; if the bankers were incompetent they wouldn't have got their high-paying jobs in the first place.
WhyCantIVote 1 year ago
@bille1131
