This video clip is the first opening scene in the movie 'ALWAYS', a great, little-known Steven Spielberg film that features firebomber aircraft to tell a love story. A fine film, that shows many old military warbird aircraft that have been converted to the civilian firebombing mission, in which to combat forest fires.

The aircraft shown in this clip is an old WW2 Navy seaplane patrol bomber, the PBY 'Catalina', flown by John Goodman, in the film. 8)

@drillsgtvee Yep, great plane. This one is N9505C, one of last two Catalinas that are owned by SLAFCO, normally up at Moses Lake, the old Larson AFB. But last I heard it was in need of some TLC, sitting in Tuscon.

@Nicodemus98 i have a 2001 40hp 4 stroke, thats a yamaha power head, its not labelled, and not all were yamaha, only some sizes, have to admit thats the reason i bought it, engine 100% perfect and reliable, often does 100+ mile trips, the quality of the rest that is merc is questionable to say the least, had mercs before and nothing but trouble, when this dies it will be replaced by a yamaha 50 4stroke high thrust.

@dreamsfgh I've had Merc's for decades and a few Evanrude's. Strangely enough I never had much trouble with them. A water pump impeller now and then, but nothing major.My current is a Twin Merc stern drive '36 foot powered by twin 460 Fords. I'll run the older engines if need be to stay away from Jap stuff. At least until they ban them in favor of Japanese. Jap boat motor pulled by Jap truck, Chinese T.V., China Cell phone and I-pad, and people wonder why they can't find a decent job.
