I wish I could purchase one of your birds! My 5th grade teacher raised lovebirds by hand as well and I had one for several years until she flew away. I loved it when she fell asleep on my toes...

Are they all very tame? I've always seen lovebirds and parakeets as very timid birds, preferring to fly off regardless of if they were hand tamed.
