can someone help me? adobe after effects isnt working. im using it for the first time and when i try to import a video clip the video dosent play. its just a black screen with a green moving line on bottom and the audio dosent play. should i not use .avi files? i put the videos in soney vegas and they worked fine...? cans omeone help :(?

@dasorra avi files are horrible, but i dont see why it should do that, maybe try converting your files into a .mov or .mp4 or even a wmv

@dasorra you cant preview audio in adobe after effects, i thought there was something wrong with mine too when i first starting using that program, to preview it with sound you can make a RAM preview which you could look up how to, or you can hold ctrl and scrub through the timeline, as for the slowed down footage maybe thats something to do with your render preview? i suggest doing a RAM preview and see how it looks then ;)
