he did it really bad, but it is to similar to a(really shitty ) technique that i use to do some van halen things without the whamy bar, but i do it on the g string always, and is like you go two frets lower than what you want, and bend it and then you start to do hamer ons and pull offs, on that string, and release the string slowly at the same time, of course its a shitty technique i use, i will never put a video on youtube talking like¨oh, the BEST technique ever in the you tube, and i did it¨

that's not exactly a low fret... and pretty sure that's called bending... bending is kool and all, but using the whammy creates different effects... like lowering the note you play, bending only raises the pitch, whammy goes lower more than it does higher, you can't dive bomb without a whammy, some players prefer fixed bridges over the tremolos cause they don't see the point of them, or have no use for them. not cause they don't "need" them
