  • They were all caught unlike many others who were never caught and their crimes , never solved .

  • poor ted he is just misunderstood. not every one wants to be part of this shit tax paying system.

  • killing is in human nature the difference is some have the balls to do it other don't

  • 6:34 He wasn't a scientist, he was a mathmatician. Not the same thing.

  • When the truth is exposed in a different scenario from the police judiciary system: NO BLACK MAN (WOMAN) IS A SERIAL KILLER! White man is indeed inherently evil, as his own testimony tells! Yet the media always tells us the opposite! Why? Obvious: fear!

  • I love that this covered the workings of the mind. Brain functions etc.

A lot of people think I am sick and twisted for taking interest in serial killers and murderers. But what I am interested in is the state of mind they have that makes hem different. They don't all come from abusive homes Ted Bundy is a fantastic example of that. Thanks @Cephyrah for uploading these!

  • @rednogo Yes absolutely fascinating :) The Ted Kaczinski (sp?) case was especially interesting to me.

  • Way to much time on the unibomber

  • @Chapter2184 its cause hes special.. watch the movie Human 2.0..its not the same subject but they mention this guy as one of hero of the century

  • I am convinced that the "scientist"'s voice is computer-generated. Doesn't it sound fucked up?

  • Wow

  • The Unabomber wants to put a bomb in yet iPhone.

  • Ted Kaczynski went to Harvardv cab you believe that, that was why he was such an efficient, killer, I kind of admire him in a way he stuck it to the man, quite literally by being free for 20 years to continue his campaign. Another thing about these shows including CSI is they show you what mistakes not to make in order to kill someone, this is absurd, telling ppl how they got caught, any copycats will know the pitfalls to avoid.

  • @vicosu There are hundreds if not thousands of mistakes one can make though, and many could be based on that persons unique situation at that time

  • actually mr. psychiatrist know it all, Ted Kaczynski was not a scientist... He was a mathematician and yes there is a big difference... In addition, I would not really consider he approach to murder as passive... Other than that, excellent documentary.

  • Hold on aren't the number of four the limit which makes a person a serial killer? If so Kazinsky was not a serial killer, a terrorist perhaps but not a serial killer.

  • The only thing I like about SOME of the serial killers is the smartness - the methodology and insights. For the most part, I don't rate many of them as clever, just methodical.

Like painting houses - paint it on the outside, everyone knows, paint it on the inside, no one knows.

There is no genius in that.

  • @callmeshane303 I think the genius is the level of obscurity. Sure many criminals try to get away with crimes, but how many actually succeed in doing so? That is where the line draws.

  • @myassin2009

But genius and chance circumstances and the difficulty of keeping all the loose ends tied up and or concealed.....

For instance, say someone gets a knife and holds up the local store... they may be dumb or have forgotten about the CCTV camera, or they did remember and concealed their identity - and because of the lack of witness's and or circumstances, they were able to "get away with it".

But their neighbour watching the TV that night, recognises their outfit. QED.

  • @callmeshane303

Everyone does right things and wrong things, every day, that lots of other people never ever know about....

Some of them are really clever and some of them are as dumb as all fuck.

In some of the events, it involves premeditated or spontaneous murder.

So I am thinking that much of the "genius serial killer bullshit" is just that, it's everything to do with the hype generated to sell news papers, instead of conveying clear factual content.

  • @callmeshane303 Does that mean you think the authorities are less than genius as well, since they stuggled so much the find these people and seem to think they are intelligent?

  • @vze52fss

Clever fucks who enjoy playing mind games.....

    Some up front, some obsure.

  • @callmeshane303 Most of these people would have an I.Q. much higher than yours..

  • This reductionist, psychoanalytical crap basically boils every man down to a child with issues ABC and completely misses the mark.

  • Remember the cyanide in the Tylenol?

  • @anastasia81472 Hell yea, I remember that...that was a cold-blooded deed.

  • @dslgunner1977 Sounds to me like perhaps the same person was responsible.

  • @anastasia81472 Very well could be...I don't think the Tylenol poisoner was ever caught (at least not for the Tylenol).

  • the shoe thing. I've seen something similar in a television show except the criminal wore bigger shoes then they said the footprint was deeper at the centre and that's how they knew he was wearing unfittingly big shoes. So, I thought maybe you could wear another shoe over your shoe to equalise the pressure throughout the footprint. But this would be better for people with smaller feet.

  • that thing about the shoes very clever

  • and i thought about making your shoes bigger than u usualy wear when you do a crime , man i must have a high iq prob like 190 or higher.

  • @7734ion Yet even more devilishly deceptive would be to make them.... smaller! *throwing my laugh à la Vincent Price and backing out of the room*

  • I am wondering why Kemper was given life in prison and not put to death? Kazinsky is so smart that he is going to figure out a way to escape but this time he will kill more and will never be caught again. Some killers kill 3-5 people and are put to death but then some kill 25-40 people and given life in prison. I say kill them the way they have killed.

  • Having a "scale of evil" is ridiculous in itself. What's the point in measuring who is most evil? They're all bad people. And we already know that.

  • he accidently get a pubic hair from the bathrooms and puts it in the bombs.i thought of getting sumones hair and plant it on a crime if i was a killer before i seen this.....wow i must have a high iq.

  • @7734ion Do some research. he had an IQ of 167 and was the youngest professor ever hired by Berkeley.

  • he accidently get a pubic hair from the bathrooms and puts it in the bombs.

  • Comment removed

  • that scale is so much crap..

  • "yeah evil alright " everyone says in their unconsciousness

  • so, a politician killing entire ethnic groups would be less evil , because he or she does it from a far ? oh . I see.

  • If Ted Kazinski is evil then so was John Brown, and by implication anyone who accepts his opposition to slavery based on race. That means the entire US government is evil for freeing slaves, is that what the professor is saying?

Ted Kazinski killed 3 people. In the same period many corporations were responsible for thye deaths of more than three employees so why aren't their shareholders who profited from the deaths like Dr Home, listed as evil?

Join the dots... join the dots

  • @rorybowskill agreed

  • @rorybowskill Your rationale is not based on any form of sanity and only feeds a sense of misfortune exacted by the hands of fate. Free will is what you fail to consider as well as intent or malice. A corporation is fueled by greed. Psychopaths are fueled by a certain degree of dementia. They see a singular reality. Their reality. Serial killers choose to deliver death to individuals out of malice, they're not some conglomeration of financial interests of which the unintended byproduct is death.

  • @chade1983 Yes, agreed. Rory - that was a false analogy. Corporations are not intentionally ending lives.

  • @rorybowskill fascinating ...astute point ...interesting questions

  • Capture is doing my head in....

  • The story of the Unabomber reminds me of the story of Bin Laden for some reason. Osama had prior contact with the CIA and so did Kaczynski, apparently. Both wrote letters/manifestos and both were used to bring into law acts that would encroach upon the freedoms of Americans. One centered around industry, the other around oil/finance.

The way the mother, brother and sister-in-law spoke in the interviews doesn't sound right.

Is Kaczynski still in jail ? Do we know that for sure ? How ?

  • Ratting your own brother out. What a douche bag.

  • @schniv He was KILLING innocent people...if you'd lost yo mom or father (sister/brother/bess fren etc) or even been maimed yourself...ah think yo ridiculous comment wouldn't exist!!It's that kind of bullshit that prevents people from uniting...apart from it being a bunch of bollox anyway...twit

  • LOL... the 'wood' related theme is so weak, and it seems like the investigators are really clutching at straws with it.

  • Andrei Cikatilo was the scariest of them all in my opinion

  • Phil Laak :P

  • If everyone was rated 22 then what would be the point? The show is supposed to show the different levels of evil and what aspects make someone most evil.

  • @pedrodemellodotnet killed three people? america kills everyday, and why arent we calling ourseleves serial killers then?

this man was fighting a war, he had opponents and those opponents were in the white house

  • @srankoin then why don't you turn yourself in? really you have no logic.

  • LOL this dude isfreaking retarded xD

  • But seriously, WTF, Ted Bundy is at 17? That mofo killed over 30 people, escaped from jail twice, and would have continued killing if police didn't catch him. The guy is a compulsive liar and was even lying to stall his execution the night before he was executed. If I had to rank Bundy according to his scale, it would be at 23 cause he's the devil incarnate.

  • @jimmylinn i know, ISN'T HE AMAZING?? :D

  • @jimmylinn Ted Bundy didn't mutilate rape the corspe or eat the people he killed. I guess thats why hes so low on the scale.

  • @jimmylinn, I also do agree. Ted Bundy should be on top of the scale, 17 is not a match for him. he is a cold blooded, ruthless murderer; highly intelligent, used his brain and deceptive charming look to commit his crimes as well as misled people. even the judge was overwhelmed at his intelligence.

  • yeah I agree, this scale is merely speculation. Sure, I can respect Dr. Stone's credibility as a forensic psychologist as it is better than nothing. His opinion is more knowledgeable than most of ours because he's dedicated his life to investigating human behaviors.

  • @jimmylinn me too! Dr. Stone did present some important insights. I'd have thumb upped but my vote fails to register

  • That bomber guy was just 16? that scale is so retarded..

  • @Alieaser that bomber guy has a name, you know :P

  • That "scale of evil" is complete bullshit. A person's capacity for wrong doing is a very subjective matter and can't be can't be put into black and white terms such as these. Who are we to determine what is evil, or if evil even exists. This was a very interesting series though it's nice to gain some insight into the minds and motives of people that live on the fringes of society.

  • @boonskety I agree! ...thanks for sharing an important perspective very much worth reading

  • he just got tired of our fake bullshit evil world. in otherwords he just gave up on us all.

  • Dr. stone is basically saying that you are evil if you ain't jew

  • "a highly intelligent clever mind" the investigators would've been like "fuck there are none of those in america"

  • @1994anmol fuck you

  • @1994anmol

    lol i reckon . . .

  • @1994anmol including you asshole! go live in Europe it's moving more to the right and the USA is sadly moving more to the left

  • @1994anmol You know that cliche joke is probably older than the chicken crossing the road. It's also a strange joke to tell when in your country (India) people shit in a hole and wipe their ass with their bare hands. So who is the backwards idiot? Clearly you.

  • @preemptivestrike20 whereas the cliche of an obnoxious american overreacting to subtle humor is non-existent.

  • @1994anmol You don't have the right to call others obnoxious after your comment. There was no humor in what you said. You say it was humor because you are too much of a coward to stand behind what you really believe. I'm done with you. You've been taught enough.

  • @preemptivestrike20 have you heard of light humor? You're like the type of person who goes to a russell peters show and says things like "Don't make fun of the Chinese people, thats racist!". Don't take things so seriously. If you really want to disprove my joke, and draw a bell curve of american iqs, and prove using probability that there is atleast one smart person. Well we know that its not you.

  • @1994anmol America is considered "the land of inventors" we had more intelligent people in one room writing the constitution then the Brits had all together in the last century. It must breed a sense of humiliation to know that America had defeated the once great britain & then came to save it again from the Germans twice. We turned England into an aircraft carrier in the 40's & told you to pack up your empire (which you did like the nice little lads you are) & now you are going to be Muslims.

  • @GrendelDaze umm.....Im not british.

  • @GrendelDaze It has been proven that 50% of Americans can't event place their own country on a map. Think about all of the rednecks and hood-rats are the majority of Americans. Also, the majority of American ''inventions'' have been proven to have mainly been cheaper models European inventions made for marketing, for example a little before the brothers in America that ''invented'' the airplane a German invented one but he made the mistake to not commercialize it. I like the internet though.

  • @GrendelDaze By the way, in ww1 and 2 Americans didn't ''save'' anyone from the Germans since they were doomed from the start and the ones that did the most damage to them were the Russians as they killed 72% of German troops. Americans just sped up the process for a few months by sending money to the Brits that would eventually do more damage to the Germans in one war than Americans did in both. You also lost to a bunch of Vietnamese untrained commies, I'd like to point out that failure as well

  • @OttarErOsom In WWI - we saved the Western Front from collapse by bring the manpower at the crucial moment when it looked like all was about to be lost. In WWII we saved all of Western Europe from being rolled over by the Red Army & ruled by Stalin. There was nothing to stop them other then the the deterrent we created - & if you think the North Vietnamese & Vietcong defeated the USA - you are so brainwashed there's no point in speaking with you.The American people ended that "conflict" at home

  • @GrendelDaze But in WWII Germany had lost a juge amount of money already and everything was falling apart in Germany, the British had started bombings in Germany, they were losing to the Red army, the French were starting a secret rebellion with help from the Brits. Also, in WWI it were mainly money, vehicles and canons you brought with you. I know you ended Vietnam at home but you gave up because you knew China and the CCP would join in but the war still served no point what so ever.

  • @GrendelDaze Plus, what exactly would be bad about Europe controlled by Vilhelm II, because he fell after the war and the Allies took all of Germanys money away Hitler would have never rose up and so basically it's America's, Britain's, France's and Rasputin's to blame for WWII. I have been to the U.S.A. and it's a very nice place as long as you stay with the upper class and don't mention mistakes Americans have done through out the years. The difference between classes mostly bothers me.

  • @GrendelDaze As well as rude behavior of some and attitude problems.

  • @GrendelDaze god well done on showing just how ignorant you good job

  • @MrDoombull What's up with people being so stupid that they just say things with nothing to back them up. It aint bold to be an idiot!

  • @GrendelDaze

i see his id, it can be broken down to a number "1994" and a name of Indian Hindu origin "anmol".

He is ethnically Indian, name= Anmol, nationality= unknown.

  • @psyjunta Careful. Feed the dog before you take a bite out of your food. Better him then you lol. You Never Know

  • He wasn't evil, He was crazy and upset at the world.

  • Einstein's signature whiped out two whole cities. LOL

  • I think someone should check up on this guy who made the scale, seems suspiciously obsessed with serial killer masterminds....

  • @hawkeye1ism lmfao your funny .. but its true most detectives and people obessed with serial killers are just the same but they never give in or hvent been triggered

  • This is interesting a child with high intelligence would have negative experiences have a greater impact upon them because of brain maturation, developing empathy for others...if you ever have a child prodigy as a son make sure you keep him locked away from the negativity of the world. LOL

Also you notice there are no female serial killer masterminds - what is this!? SEXISM?!

  • Kazinsky scores 170 in an IQ test Einstein is estimated IQ of around 150.

This guys is smarter than Einstein. 140 is already Genius Level.

  • @ChariotOfFaith lmfao yah but einsterin whiped out two whole cities with his contributions to the nuclear bomb .. so on my serial killer rating i rate him a 12 cause he killed people from at least 1k miles away.

  • @hghost08 The only contribution Einstein had towards the nuclear bombs was that he signed a piece of paper that the president saw, that authorised the construction of the bombs.

  • <---The Truth is here.

Ted Kaczynski is a courageous philosopher of Truth. Visit My website for the Truth.

  • To define Kazinsky as a serial killer shows how ignorant that Mickey Mouse shrink really is.. A terrorist, maybe; a murderer, indeed; a serial killer, absolutely not!

  • @cedrikledlp Why not? He did a series of killings. Doesn't that make him a serial killer?

  • @KoreaRwkz Yes, by that definition he would be a serial killer. But besides mutiple killings, he is completely different from other 'big name' serial killers. He killed to carry out political views, and was fueled by his delusional philosophical angles. In fact, it is mentioned earlier that he had a predisposition to paranoid schizophrenia, which explains his seemingly ridiculous theories. All of this matched with his outstanding intellect made him a time-bomb...literally

  • @psychoactiv3z I thought his theories made alot of sense. I don't know if we were reading the same thing. Yes, he is different from typical serial killers but he it is completely correct to say he is one. The term 'serial killer' just describes someone who perpetuates a series of killings, no matter what the motivation or style of killing are.

  • @KoreaRwkz Feel free to review my previous response for clarification. I never said his theories were non sensical. I never said it was incorrect to label him as serial killer; I did however claim that he was different from those grouped in the same category. Thank you for your feedback.

  • @cedrikledlp you're absolutely right. I was thinknig the same the whole time they were showing Kazinsky. I think this idiotic shrink is just a bit of a faggot with a soft spot for whoever is more intelligent than him.

  • @cedrikledlp I agree with you on that one.

  • @cedrikledlp actually you get the title serial killer if you've killer 3 or more people... Kaczynski killed 3 people and wounded 23. The 'Micky mouse shrink' Is correct you are the one that is wrong.

  • @cedrikledl Kazinsky perfectly matches the defintion of a serial killer, perhaps you're the ignorant one.

Here's the definiton: A serial killer, as typically defined, is an individual who has murdered three or more people[1][2] over a period of more than a month, with down time (a "cooling off period") between the murders, and whose motivation for killing is largely based on psychological gratification.[3][4]

  • Well Eco-terrorisim doesn't seem that bad compared to terrorist. haha scale of evil!

  • I wonder what level Dexter would be on?

  • @ArtistAries Hahaha I was JUST thinking that. I think maybe 11-14... he demonstrates traits from those categories, as well as being classified as psychotic. But he's a vigilante, I don't know if that would change anything though.

  • There should be a sentence of torture for serial killers

  • why didnt they show the contents of his thing

  • amish bomber

  • Dr. Stone loves the lime light.

  • its kind of dumb how they are quantifying evil. its like when the doctor asks you how much does it hurt on a scale of 1-10. totally imaginary scale

  • @Zombied77

I disagree, I think there is a difference between a person who kills for revenge, and later regrets it, kills for greed, kills because they are psychotic, and kills for pleasure.

naturally it is reasonable to assume that one who kills for pleasure and because "they crave it" they are the "most evil".

  • such a shame........these brilliant minds should be trying to help society not destroy it.

  • Where's Jack the ripper?

  • @DreamingGirl0 lol seek on jack the ripper you will find it

  • I really dislike this show - evil is a word that shouldn't be used in psychology (what purpouse would it have?). And just the thought of comparing and ranking horrible acts, is despicable - are there any important differances between Bundy (17) and Dahmer (22) that makes Bundy less evil, when he in fact killed more people?

The scale also differs between psychopaths and non-psychopaths, non psycho torture killers - 18, extreme torture psychos that haven't killed - 21. Murder is for normal guys?

  • @lokeloverno1 Indeed! ...I would have thumb upped your astute comment but my vote fails to register

btw thanks for sharing ...a very worthwhile read

  • I dont really find Ed Camper has a mastermind or the other college student has one either. Some dumb things about the show was

    1. some of the masterminds thier Iq wasnt very high

    2. They got caught after like a year

    3. Ed Camper killed hitch hikers which isnt really hard to cover up

    4. I would think Hitler or Stalin would be number one since they had thier kill count in the millions

    5. If anyone had to be 1. i would say the Scientist in the 19 hundredths

  • basically he hated himself. Like all killers.

  • that scale is fucking stupid. Dr stone was sure stonned when he made that fucking scale.

    Overall 7.2/10

  • @PsychoMenkz He was what? Stunned? Stoned? Just a little hint, if you wish to express your opinions, A) learn how to spell B) Inflamitory language only shows your lack of vocabulary and not your views. This man is a reliable, educated, and respected psychology expert. Being an Undergraduate psychology student, I see nothing wrong with his scale, and I have heard of no other experts dispute it.

  • @ElyseStaraweisz Are you the fucking grammar police? English is my 3rd language .....so does it explain? Being an engineering undergrad, I don't see his work inspiring or reliable. I so hate people who try to prove their English literacy on you tube. And lean to respect each others opinions, you stupid retard.

  • @PsychoMenkz I respect your opinions, and from what I see, I made a good argument and got a child-like tantrum from an adult! How entertaining youtube is!

  • @ElyseStaraweisz why do i assume you're fantastic in bed, elyse??? lol

  • @greeniem Believe it or not, you are not the first person to have said that to me... :P

  • @PsychoMenkz I found your comment interesting interms of the scale...inclined to agree but questioned to what the spelling of that word did confuse me a bit ...what I know for sure is that the scale is more than a bit odd on several levels in terms of science's ability to measure the characteristic of 'evil' especially since the word is barely ...adequately defined...

that aside I'm curious about your reply to the first reply ...you make several astute points then your last statement... ???

  • @PsychoMenkz ...re swearing and name calling ...they are respecting each other's opinions how?!?

incidently I absolutely agree with the concept of respecting each other as well as the observations/opinions that people make time to share ...even on youtube ...I'm trusting that you do see that I have appreciated that your comments are absolutely valid as well as an interesting read ;-])

    peace

  • @gaiagale those comments were posted when I was new to youtube and now I am a bit matured in terms of using appropriate language to share my perspective with the world. Have a nice day.

  • @PsychoMenkz Ah I understand ; ) thanks! ...I have enjoyed a wonderfully fullfilling day ...right back to you ;-])

    respect

  • LOL! Masterminds and they still got caught, why do they give murderers so much credit!

  • @MosaicMaiden because these masterminds are 1 against rest of the world, so being undiscovered in years is a great achievement.

  • @Tortalone just how the hell do you "accidentally" take making bombs and killing people to far?

  • the unibomber wasnt even that horrible of a guy, sure he had a messed up childhood and everything, but in reality he was just a nature loving hippy genius who accidentally took things too far, its a shame he killed a bunch of people but he was trying to get a really valid and conscious value across to the world, and unfortunately violence nowadays is the only way to do that. technology has both changed the world for the better and for the worst, read his manifesto

  • 1 thing about all these thangs, they sure weren't lazy!

  • the most evil person/criminal mastermind/sex sadist/serial killer is mike debardeleben. he was nabbed because he sucked at counterfeiting 20 dollar bills but eluded authorities for his sex slayings over 20 years.

  • where the fuck is Ed Gein, Jeff Dahmer, Andrei Chikatilo, Pedro Alonzo Lopez! these are the most vicious, sick and deceiving serial killers!!!! fuckin kazinski is a pussy compared to these killers!!

  • i checked out ed gein, holly shit man, you are right, that fucker was way worse lol.

    what a twisted fucker!

3 am or i would check out some of those others you mentioned.just aswell i guess, I think I have had enough for now, that is some pretty sick shit to watch and think about.

    Cheers

  • @CommandoKickass

Yeah they were, but this episode is specifically about criminal masterminds, killers with an extremely high IQ who used their intelligence to carry out their schemes.

  • @CommandoKickass

I see your point, because it takes a certain detachment and sadistic mentality to kill and torture someone by hand. And unless his intention was to disfigure people his methods were ineffective, therefore, I question placing him as a mastermind.

Interesting documentary though, thanks for posting Cephyrah!

  • @CommandoKickass Some of them are on other most evil episodes.. They can't take ALL of them in one episode, you know (;

  • This scale of evil is a joke and as far as masterminds go, this is nothing more than a group of low life cowards.

  • stoneick , totally agree. The scale makes good dramatic fodder but is absurd. This glorification of these losers does a great disservice to those of us with bad pasts who did not turn on those around us and those of us who combine intelligence with useful purpose and a tad-grip on reality.

  • You have to participate in society to truly grasp whats wrong with the world.

Claiming that he was a hypocrite because he realized the falsity at play is plain stupidity.

I don't agree with his (logic) of killing.

It could be that he was attempting to create an army[Fight Club Syndrome] but more likely he was driven by his own ego and self delusions.

An observer able to see whats wrong with the world without a good chunk of participation would have to own a godlike intelligence. LulzIfUTakeMeSrs

  • @Wolframium14 I would have thumbs upped your comment ('cause it is an interesting perspective) but my vote fails to register

  • @emosasuke620 yeah, man!

Like I said, you fixed the drink in your mind, so ... go ahead and drink it. let me know how good it is. Toodle pip, old chap.

  • They didn't place Ted Bundy on the scale? Hmm probably because he said porn led him down the path to murder because it numbed him to the emotions of women.

  • @emosasuke620 you drink it skank.

  • This was pretty interesting, but has anyone else noticed that they simply the same visual clips over and over (and over)?

  • yes... and over... and over.... and over...

  • i loveeeee smart ppl

  • Stone is the flesh equivalent of Muppet Show's Dr. Bunsen. The scale is a mere pretext to tell some old, yet sensational (and, granted, fascinating) stories.

  • @BiffChunksteak uniquely interesting perspective ...thanks for sharing

  • EVIL IS ONLY IN ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the most evil is the guy who killed and rape more than 300 little girls and he doesn't even appear on this video pssh.
