I've seen guys riding BMW 1150 GS and 1200 GSA's over very rough terrain including sand ex. I will say that this trip you see in the video can be done on a heavy bike like that but it will be HARD work! You will have to be fit and good at riding off road. The part where I got stuck in the sand, on top of dune 7, with the KLR will not be reachable though. I would not advise to go there anyway. Namibia at large is a lonely and desolate place, it gets seriously hot even in winter.
